I will move into Southern Magnolia Iuka, and I like it a lot. It's in a nice tiny town with lots of shopping all on one little street, and two grocery stores. It's got lots of places to eat and it's got a little, tiny Walmart. Southern Magnolia is a tiny facility, so I will get to know the people. And It smells super fresh when you walk in.

My mother lived in Southern Magnolia in Iuka for 3-1/2 years. It was good most of the time, but not good at the end. My mother enjoyed her caretakers and the food. In the end, however, they did not check on her and she had no way to call for help. As for activities, they had bingo and Penny Auction. They had a 1-day-per-week salon, and they had a movie theater. It's like a big screen with theater seats or recliners. I think they should improve on contacting families when their loved one is hurt. My mother fell and broke her back and I was not contacted. She also did not go to a hospital.

There are a few employees who really care about the resident, but there are some who sit out back and talk and laugh without even checking on the most elderly.

My husband is now in Southern Magnolia Iuka. They’re so good, so caring, and so good to me. I would recommend it to anyone. It is an assisted living but also has an Alzheimer’s unit. He is in the assisted living, but it is a locked-down unit. They take him out regularly; it’s just wonderful. He loved the food; he says it’s very good. The activities are very nice; there are lots of things. The staff is wonderful. For the price, Southern Magnolia is the best for me.
