I am/was a resident of this facility

I have moved into The Meadows of Brownstown. It was the cheapest one I could find, but I don't know if I'm really happy here. People seem standoffish. They just don't want to sit down and talk with you. My cats aren't very happy, either. They don't like cats or dogs. When I moved in, my sink was leaking, and so they came and fixed it right away as soon as I told them. The staff was here the next day to do it. One of the drawers had the handles missing. He fixed that and brought it back within the day. I don't really have any other complaints other than the smoking. They said if I get caught one more time, they are going to evict me, and I don't want that. I have been smoking a vape, and it's working for me a little. I still want my cigarette, though, but I've been trying just to use the vape, so I'll see how it goes. I was thinking about looking for a community where I can smoke, which is very rare. I also have to have a two-bedroom apartment. They give notices for things that are going on, like the water was shut off for a couple of days. The dumpster area was totally cleaned out. They had dumpsters outside that we could use. It is a very nice community. I like it here, and I have a nice apartment. The staff is very nice. The girl who works in the office is wonderful. She has helped me tremendously. They keep the place very well. They clean the main room where the garbage goes, which, to me, is a good thing. It means they care about us. The floors are vacuumed. My apartment is the first one next to it, so that's very convenient for me. I have a small patio that I used for a few days, but not a lot this winter because it's been so cold. They had it all decorated for Christmas and for Valentine's Day. They have bingo games twice a week. They have a bus that takes you to Walmart, to Myers, and to Goodwill, so you can do your groceries if you want or whatever you want from the store. That's very nice because I don't have a car. I can also use it for going to doctors' appointments and so on and so forth. I think that's a very nice feature. Every floor has its own washer and dryer room and trash room. They offer some storage, but you put your own lock on it because they will not replace anything if it's broken into.

My mom and I recently renewed her lease and it’s a huge change in management in the last year, they provided me with a ton of resources to gather information for my mom’s renewal. Every interaction with them has been pleasant and personable.

Office staff is super helpful, making living here a lot easier than I what I’m used to. Renewing my lease has been super difficult in the past and I never had much guidance prior but they truly helped me this year since they went under new management last year. Maintenance is always fast and I love all of the activities they run weekly!

The apartments were fine. Hallways not always kept clean. No instructions were given about emergency evacuation plans. There are several mobility impaired people living here. All activities are directed by the residents. There is no involvement of management in these activities except advertise them on TV screen in hallway. It seems since management changed about a year ago, things do not seem a friendly or helpful.

I can't say enough good things about Baldwin House Senior Living Brownstown. The facility is beautiful. The apartments are beautiful. Everyone here is super nice. They have lots of activities, and the staff members are very good. For activities, you can play cards, bingo, and crafts. They also have movies. They had a Mother's Day brunch, and they would go on a Father's Day picnic for everyone.

I went to Baldwin House Senior Living Brownstown. It's a nice community. It's friendly, clean, and spacious, but just a little out of our price range. The apartments are very nice and spacious. They didn't show us a whole lot. Nevertheless, the staff were very friendly and very polite.

I like the Baldwin House Senior Living Brownstown. It has independent living. As soon as you walked in, it gave you a sense of tranquility. The staff during the tour was very good. She was very conscious of my nervousness. She also answered every question I had and I had a lot of them. I wasn't just somebody that came in. She personalized with me. They have no meals there. You make your own meals. They have a barbershop. They have areas where you can play pool. They have gathering areas. They have different kinds of things to do there. There are knitting clubs and stuff like that within the building, people that want to do it themselves. I just don't like their kitchens. There are a couple of things that I'm not wild about, but they're better than most of them.

I currently live in Baldwin House Senior Living Brownstown and I've got a wonderful room. It's a two-bedroom unit with a large bath, a nice-sized living room, and a kitchen. I cook my own meals, although, during holidays, they set up a presentation of food and they will have a complete dinner for all the people. The staff that I've met here are nice. If you need something done in your apartment, they're very efficient. They come and fix it. It's a clean and upscale apartment living. So, the accommodations are nice. There's a beauty parlor if you need a haircut, an exercise room, a pool room, a card room, a movie room where you can watch or play bowling on the TV with a group of people, and a place where you can meet. They hold different events like ice cream parties and pizza parties. There's a laundromat as well where you can do your laundry or have somebody do it for you.

I have moved in. The reason why I chose it is because the rooms are big, it's nice and clean, and I just like it. It has all worked out. The staff members are very nice. There's no food here and they don't have a cafeteria open. The apartments are nice and very roomy. I like everything about it.

I toured here. The amenities weren't what I wanted, but the price and the apartment itself was the best out of all of them as far as space and design. I was very pleased with it. They did not serve food there. They have different events, and the staff even took me to the board where the calendar is set up. They have cards, bingo, Wii games, a movie theater, and trips (once the government allows them to go on again).

My mother is in American House Brownstown. They have a beautiful place there, and it accommodates all seniors. When they need anything, they have it right there. Their apartments come with an emergency line which they can pull in case something happens. They have a bus that takes them where they have to go, everybody there seems so nice, and it's so peaceful. It's a very nice place, and I'm so glad that she's in there. The staff is very nice and so helpful. They have crafts, they have a room where they can watch TV, and it's just so cool. I wish I could move in there. They have an area for planting vegetables and they have their balconies.

It is very nice and clean, the atmosphere is very friendly, and the people are helpful. The director sat down with us, and she gave us a tour of the rooms and the facilities. It's loaded with stuff so the residents don't have to leave the place in order to take advantage of storage, laundry, or whatever else they need. It's a beautiful place and it's a new; only a couple years old. It has nice grounds and places where you can walk and observe the birds or have a place to garden. It's a three story garden. When we visited they had two big playing tables in the eating area and people were playing cards. The people were coming and going, some had canes, some had wheelchairs, everybody seemed happy and were happy to tell you that it's a great place. They have good furniture, a big elevator, they have a post office there, a theater, and a library. Everything seems to be handy, convenient, and clean. In terms of food, you bring your own. Their dining area was very spacious, it had a piano, and if you have a birthday or something to celebrate with your family you can use the dining area. They don't have a kitchen except for the one behind the dining area. We were offered coffee by one of the ladies playing cards. The residents can bring food in and share if they want. I would rate them the highest out of the places we saw. The person who gave the tour was very nice. Their facilities were excellent. They had double doors and the people checking the temperature did an excellent job of separating the people who came into the building. They take the safety of the residents very seriously. When you walk down the hall some residents have signs on their doors saying that they didn't want to be disturbed. That's a big plus and makes the residents feel more comfortable. It reminds me of an upscale place. The residents can decorate the inside of their apartment.

I will move in this week. The tour was very nice, but I'm probably the youngest one, and the majority were 81. They were very kind, the place looks like a regular apartment, and I think they have 2-bedrooms and 1-bedroom. The staff was very nice and very accommodating. They had structured games set up for everybody to keep them active. They will take you shopping, but they no longer serve meals. They have balconies and patios.
