"Brookdale Shreveport was great, in my opinion. The people were very nice. The facility was extremely clean, everyone was very nice, and they have quite a few activities. My mother is not really active socially, but she may participate in things if she gets used to it. The apartments were very convenient and laid out very well, and I like them very much. The dining area was very nice. They had a work room and a crafts room. They were all laid out easily. It would be easy for an elderly person to access them. I was just really impressed."

"Montclair Park Assisted Living is the best place I have found in the Shreveport area. They're just great. Mom is already a resident there. They're real apartments, and they're all great. The staff is fantastic. She's only been there a couple of weeks. They have a chapel and a garden, and they have live music daily. They have a movie theater. They have transportation. They bring them to doctor's appointments and you can meet them there. If you can't make it, they'll take them to the doctor's appointments and then take them back. The building is beautiful. They've got two lakes with swans. It's fantastic. The activities are great. They are animal friendly there as well."

"The Chateaus at Montclaire has been really good. They're beautiful. Everybody is extremely nice. The day shift is wonderful. There are a lot of people that have been there a long time and they're really good. They're just short-handed, most on evening shift, and it's not their fault. They have the same problems that people everywhere else are having, whichever industry it may be. They have an RN that does the meds and different levels of nurses aides. The one that's in charge of my sister is excellent. She's there during the day. She was able to even bathe her in the bed and move her into a shower seat and wash her hair. They are good to change her, too. They have a button they put around the people's necks that they push when they need help. If she's complaining a lot, I can just walk right to the receptionist and they get me help right away. They've been nice to her and she likes them. The food looks really good. She has a refrigerator in her room where we can put things in there. If she runs out of diaper and things, they have an extra that they'll use until we can replace what we need to. They've got two cafeteria areas and the one on my sister's side is big. There's musicians that play music that older people would like, bingo games, a little movie theater, ice cream day, and crafts."

"My mother-in-law was in The Blake at Bossier City for three years so I know it well. She was in their memory unit before she passed this year. What stood out to me was their personnel. They were very accommodating and took very good care of our mother during the time she was there. Their staff was awesome. They're polite and professional, and they take care of all of her needs. It's a beautiful place, well-kept, and clean. For three years, we never had a negative experience with them. It's costly but they're comparable to everything else around the area. We have tried their food as we have dined there with our mother more than once, and for an institutional kind of food, I'd say it was good. She did some of their activities like bingo and crafts. They had a very nice schedule of activities for the residents. The place has common areas. The assisted living side has 1-bedroom apartments and the memory side just has bedrooms with a bath, and a common area for dining. It was a very nice living accommodation for anybody. I could live there myself. They are top-of-the-line."
