"My first choice is The Oaks of Louisiana. The facilities are very nice. The grounds are beautiful. Even though it's a large facility, everything is kind of close to the central areas. In some of the other places, there are very long walks like the dining halls and meeting rooms. But this was kind of very centralized and not much walking and that's one of the things I liked about it. The activities that they do there are pretty much the same as all the other three assisted living centers. The upkeep of the place was impeccable and immaculate. The overall appearance is very pretty."

"My father is in Heritage Manor South. It's very clean. The rooms are nice. He's in a room that would be for two people, but he's the only one in there. The bathroom is big. There's plenty of room to get around in there with a wheelchair if you needed that. It's a good fit for him. It looks like a good value for the money. The staff so far has been pretty helpful. They stayed on top of it. I was there this weekend, and they came in for the meals and all that kind of stuff and when he's getting his medicines. He's getting seen by staff several times a day. They've got a big lunchroom that's got a big TV in there. It's big enough for 20 people to sit in there. I didn't explore the whole place, but there are other rooms where they have activities and they can get together. They had bingo in the activity room one night when I was there. I had some of the food and it seemed to be good. I enjoyed the things that I had. The dining area is open and spread out for people with wheelchairs. It was set up in a good manner to be able to support other people coming in to visit and that kind of thing."
