I did a tour of Linden Ponds. It's an independent living facility but I believe you can progress to memory care. They had a lot of activities. It was a much bigger place, but it just was too far away from my children right now. The only bad part, the distance from interacting with my relatives. There's nothing wrong with Linden Pond, it is just far away. It's the same as all the other places, except it is in a much larger area and a much larger facility with more things to do. I believe they have a bocce court, a garden area, walking trails, a library, and a swimming pool. I have tried the food, and it is very good. They had a large dining room, a smaller area, a pub, and a small breakfast area. So, they have restaurants and more places to eat. The apartments were the same as in other places. The same square footage, and same amenities, but on a much larger scale. The staff were very good. They have many people, with many different areas of expertise. The facility all looks very clean and well-maintained.

My parents have lived here for at least 10 years. We were so happy they were there as they got older and their health started to fail, especially because they had a rehab facility on-site. It was a great comfort to us until they needed it. My 88 year old mom is the caregiver of my 91 year old father who has some dementia. Well my mom had a heart attack, spent 2 weeks at Brigham & Woman's in Boston, almost died. She now needs to be moved to rehab and there is no bed for her at the rehab at Linden Ponds. She is going to have to go to another facility and it will be difficult for my father to see her. Both of them are very upset. I get it, there is only enough space. But this is why they moved there in the first place and they pay quite a bit of money to live there. Both my parents are very upset and I'm afraid it will impact their health. They have been married 65 years. So my review is this is a great place, expensive, but don't depend on the services being available when you need them. Perhaps they need a larger rehab facility, they just keep building more condos. In the end it's about the money.

I have visited a few facilities & this one is nicer than most. There are over 1,000 apartments spread over a large wooded & landscaped campus with two clubhouses & lots of amenities. It's 6 miles from charming Hingham Center & waterfront which is a plus for me. It is not a classic CCRC - the entry fee & monthly 'rent' is for independent living only and assisted living/memory care is fee-for-service at market rate. That brings those fees down but increases risk for those without long term care insurance or the funds to cover nursing home care out of pocket. Some things which are rolled into the monthly fee at other places, like housekeeping, are extra here. But the costs are reasonable & I like that I'm not paying for services I don't use. It's high on my list.

I asked for information when we were looking for a place for mom. Mom went somewhere else and has since passed but Linden Ponds wont stop sending huge brochures. I called and asked them to stop, they said they would, but now I get 2 huge brochures, 1 in my moms name and 1 in my name! I am afraid to call again as I might get 3.

We toured Linden Ponds. It was a very nice place. They have a lot of things to do there, and but it just wasn't for us. The room we looked at was about $4000 a month. It was nice, but it was just plain and there's nothing luxurious in there. They offer one meal a day.

Linden Ponds Senior Living Community had all the activities I wanted, it had the apartment type that I wanted, and there were a lot of things that I had on my list that they do there. I visited it about two weeks ago and saw their independent living. I have chosen it for myself because it seems to have all the things that I was looking for. The staff was very knowledgeable, courteous, and helpful. I only had one meal there, but I know what I had was very good. The landscaping is beautiful. They are constantly keeping it up and it's very clean. The place is close to highways, it’s close to shopping and stores, and it's in a very nice town.

We live at Linden Ponds. It's A+. There isn't anything that isn't good. They have movies, dances, book clubs, all kinds of clubs, and trips. Anything you want is here. I have a two-bedroom, two-bath apartment and a patio that looks out on the woods. It's very spacious, and it's got big closets, a washer and dryer, and a kitchen. The food is awesome. You pay for one meal a day and the rest you can make on your own or eat in one of the restaurants. The staff is very friendly. It's like a big family. They have a gym, a pool, and other areas for dancing, yoga, and balance classes.

Linden Ponds was very expensive. It was a nice facility and is a huge development. Everybody seemed very nice. They have doctors right in the building there, and they have a memory care unit that's separate from everything. The food is really good. It's like a big hotel and all the buildings are interconnected so you don't have to go outdoors. They have shuttle buses that will take you shopping. They have a lot of nice amenities. They were ten- or eleven-years-old, but they looked brand new, so that means they're well-kept and maintained. The staff is very helpful, as well as the people in the restaurant. It was very professional.

I live in Linden Ponds. It's a wonderful place for a person my age, and there's lots to do. You can go to the theaters in Boston and Cambridge. They have all kinds of card games, movies, shows, and entertainment. I have lots of friends here, people who care, and it's just terrific. The food is like eating in a restaurant every night.

My Dad was there for almost 3 years and it was awesome for him most of the time. It is a beautiful place to spend the autumn of your life. I wish he had moved there sooner. I give the facility itself a 5 star but the Dr. there was a 1 star and since we are now just waiting for the percentage back we are seeing that also is 1 star. So a wonderful place to live but unfortunately not all their doctors good and getting the money back is going to take way longer than you would ever have expected. We turned in the keys to his place almost 3 months ago and it looks like we are going well into next year to get his refund. They give you no indication of when once you turn in the keys of how long it will be you just have to keep calling them. Although his place has been sold and many people have moved in there they hold on your money for a very long time. I will let this board know when they finally give the money back.

I was very impressed with Linden Ponds. It's a CCRC community, so they have independent living for seniors and assisted living. They do all kinds of outings and seemed like a thriving community. The residents weren't all just sitting around sick, and it looked like a very active lifestyle. They have a lot of walking trails, and they're on a lot of acres in a nice town. It would have been sending people off to college, it was that nice. They have a bar and a fantastic gym with a swimming pool. They have condos to rent for visiting family, a movie theater, and a beauty salon. It looked amazing and beautiful. Everyone says good things about it, and my own impression is really favorable.

Linden Ponds would be my choice. I liked that it's spread out in different, three-story-high buildings. I liked the setting. It was a better looking place. The food was lovely and well balanced. We had a salad, entrée, and dessert.

My mother has lived in Linden Ponds for 11 years and has had nothing but positive experiences the whole time. We kids love not worrying about her. She has great access to medical care both on- and off-campus. I've visited many times over the years and see no diminution in service or conditions. I've also eaten in the dining rooms many times. There are many choices of entree and the ability to customize what one orders as much as one would have at a mid-range restaurant. The food is quite good. We are so impressed with Linden Ponds that my husband and I are planning to move in in a few years.

Buyer beware. This is strictly independent living. Think of it as a condo for old people with a really high condo fee. The amount you pay per month versus what it covers, on top of the HUGE buy in fee is staggering. And when your parent DOES need help, ever bit of it is an extra cost. "On site medical care"? Only if you have an appointment. Otherwise all they do is call 911 and ship you off, alone, to the hospital. Meal plan covers one meal a day. An elderly person living alone is going to tend to simply not eat the other two meals. My mother has lost over 20 pounds. And the residents privacy is more important to these folks than their well being. My mother was found outside, barefoot, at 2 AM, locked out. No one called us. They said it was up to my mother to report this. She was sent to the hospital in an ambulance and no one called us. She was there for 14 hours before the hospital finally called. Those happy people in the commercials were obviously well compensated, as the real residents are only looking like that as long as they are 100% with it mentally. Then you're on your own.

I’ve looked at Linden Ponds. It is a huge community totally covered from one building to another with a shuttle bus that goes from one building to the other. It has a pool, which I want, and a good fitness club. There are many activities that are run by residents themselves, which is a plus. The rooms are a good size, and the food is excellent.

Buyers beware. They are independent living with al la cart services for medication oversite. All I can say is that the overseers need oversite. Dopamine medications that are time sensitive were too often not given according to plan and on occasion were not given at all.

Visited my Mom staying in Rose Terrace - short term re-hab and I could see that the nurses aid were not too helpful at all especially the first day after arriving from the hospital after a hip replacement. They never asked which hip or what surgery did she have... very odd, not communicated, and did not listen to us... then today, I spoke with my Mom , and the Bed Arm that she would need to use was broken which I would think someone with Hip Replacement using bars to help lift themselves would be needing go sturdy equipment. Also, because of other ailments such as spinal stenoisis and arthritis, the Bed itself was very, very uncomfortable, so she slept in the chair in the room that was too heavy and would not operate with ease. She is hoping that they will bring her a new bed with air mattress, which at this point waited all day. So far she feels her own home is better equipped, and then left on the commode for her husband to pull her off of. The nurses aids are not too enthusiastic in helping instead they want to sit and relax.. not what we would have expected, and then pay for a Bed to boot.

It is a good thing that Linden Ponds has independent living, and they have lots of activities. They have a dementia center, a nursing home, and a rehab center. They've been open since 2004, they have a sister community in Peabody, MA, and they are getting into assisted living; they are constructing one of those too. They have everything there. I am going into independent living, but I want to make life easier. All my family live here, so I want to make it easier for them.

I have been very disappointed with Linden Ponds and the care my aunt has received at this facility. This is a great place if you are 55 to 80+ in good health with no extra care needed. That's the irony - as one chooses such a facility with the expectation that one might need additional services in the future. Patio beautiful; but chairs are so heavy even I at 54 have trouble moving them. I asked for "gliders" nothing happened. Dining Service made a point letting us know eating outside created extra work from them. Once had the waitress hold the patio door with the tray and yell for me to come get the food. Once a server requested that we - my aunt being on a walker - move 5 tables down, as they only service 5 specific tables outside. Shuttle bus driver told my aunt "she was in the way now" when she accidentally got up before the driver could get her walker out. Home aid didn't show up one night - and I was told it was a "miscommunication" "mis-scheduling" and didn't happen on a regular basis. You can't get someone to come up to even take a temperature, yet medical facility/doctor on site, no availability the day she needed to be seen. Trying to get a salon appointment is impossible, lack of staff, even though this is the highlight of the day for many residents. No manicurist on site. In short, my question at this point is - would one be better off in a single floor apartment/condo in 55 and older community and hire additional services or aides on one's own?

Linden Ponds was very good; they're very helpful. It was a beautiful facility. The apartments were beautiful because they completely re-do the apartment when it becomes available. We went to Linden Ponds. It is a very big place, and it has everything you would need. It has a shuttle service, and it has four places to eat. They do independent living and memory care. It was a very nice place. Food was very good. The rooms were of good size. They were spread out just like a regular big condo. We were more into the assisted living end of it than they wanted us to be, so we got rejected, but it was a very nice place. I was ready to move in. The dining areas were not formal, but they were nice. They were of good size. They have two big main dining rooms, a couple of pubs, and then an all-day restaurant of some sort. The food was good. You can get a drink with your supper, and that's one thing that the other places don't have.

My uncle went into Linden Ponds for rehab. It was then determined that he couldn't go home again. They wanted to charge him $250,000 per year! They did nothing for him. They didn't cut his finger nails or toenails, they didn't cut his hair. They didn't take him to any activities or let him know when activities were happening. Physical therapy was almost non existent. I would never advise anyone to go to that place. A huge ripoff?

My mother lived at Linden Ponds for 9 years. While the facilities are very nice and the employees dedicated she found it to be much too big and had trouble forming friendships with other residents. Obviously, some people would love the diversity that size brings but she found it difficult. Her ties to Hingham were the only reason she stayed as long as she did. She has since moved to a smaller retirement community in Maine and finds it more suitable for her. Perhaps a more vexing problem she has encountered is that they have been very slow in renovating and marketing her unit. Five months after she vacated they have only just begun to show it. So don't expect to get your deposit back quickly if you decide it's not the right place for you

I had heard good things about Linden Ponds from a number of people. Their prices seemed reasonable. The apartments were very nice. I've looked at one- and two-bedroom units. They have apartments. They're very nice. Everything was very clean. I didn't come in contact with that many staff, but the staff that I did see was very nice. They seemed to have a number of activities. They had something with knitting -- and I used to knit -- they had films, and they had book clubs. Their grounds were very nice. I remembered it was very nice and very pleasant, and they seemed to have a lot of land. They had walking trails. They had transportation to a train. Their dining room looked very nice.

Far and above, everything else in Linden Ponds is wonderful. It's an Erickson community, and is absolutely gorgeous. The whole place is like a movie set. Everything is well appointed and clean. Anything else compared to it is dead. They're affordable, too. Their monthly fee is comfortable with what I'm spending now. I think they've come up with something that pleases me. I never got into their apartment, I'm sure it's nice. It's just a place to sleep, I want the amenities. I want to take advantage of the amenities. I'm not going to look any further. Great location, very peaceful and remote, yet close to Boston, easy off the highway for visits. Very new and clean facilities, pleasant and helpful staff. Spacious accommodations and hallways. It is quite large, so it does not have a very intimate feel, but one cannot have everything. They let my uncle live independently, the way he wanted, though we felt rushed to move him when he began to refuse treatment.

Over the last few years I have visited my grandmother at Linden Ponds over a dozen times. The facility is always spotless, including the grounds and all common areas. Even the gym and pool are pristine. From the moment you enter, the scene is so peaceful and perfect that it makes even a young person want to live there. The staff is always very friendly and as helpful as they can be. Servers in the dining room are very pleasant and happy to chat with residents and visitors alike. The security gate is always manned, no matter the hour, and the guard always greets you with a smile. They even keep a look out for me when I go for a run, and make sure that I have gotten back safe and sound. I am extremely impressed with their door monitoring system to make sure that no one gets stuck in their rooms. My only complaint is that the food quality has fallen. Granted, it still isn't bad, but at first it didn't taste like cafeteria food at all, but now the food tastes and looks mass produced. Since my grandmother lost her sense of taste, this has impacted her far more than it would most, because she can't judge that the food still tastes pretty good. Overall, though, the facilities, staff and activities and services available at Linden Ponds are excellent.

The buildings were all sparkling clean and nicely appointed. The grounds were well taken care of. All the staff members we encountered were friendly and pleasant, and they greeted the residents by name. I was impressed with the amenities and activities available, everything from on-site hairdressing and medical appointments to gardening clubs and in-house concerts. We visited several apartment layouts; the larger ones were quite roomy but the smaller apartments seemed a bit cramped for two people. We ate in the dining room and I was impressed both by the varied (and delicious) menu and by the wait staff's encouragement to make substitutions or order something not on the menu if we desired. It was more like eating at a high-end restaurant than an institution. The food was excellent and the portion size was reasonable. The waitstaff also seemed to be familiar with the residents' preferences and I overheard them suggest a particular dish to a resident on several occasions as if they were familiar with that person's likes and dislikes. On the whole, I found the facility to be very pleasant and livable, and the staff friendly and accommodating.

The facilities are very clean and kept up well. There is a lot of space on the facilities, which is good, because there are so many residents, but it does not feel cramped. A lot of high school kids work here, but most of them seem fine. There is security and a lot of good activities. The food is decent. It is close to home which is great so I can visit my grandmother and there is a lot to do around the facilities if I want to take her out. Overall, she seems pretty happy. It is not the cheapest place either. I am sure most people would rather be living on their own, but since she can't this place is a great option for her.
