My mother has been happy at the Arbors, thought initially the move was challenging. To leave her long time home after the death of my father took some adjustment, but she had the right attitude and she had found the right place. The staff is friendly and helpful, the facility clean and well managed. The apartments are small, but still offer privacy to the residents. The cost is reasonable, and it is nice that our mother can still live in Greenfield.

My elderly mother in law was recently looking for a new place that would allow her to be around older people in a more senior friendly environment without being a nursing home. We toured "The Arbors" in Greenfield, MA recently as an option for her. On the exterior, the place has the appearance of a moderately priced hotel. The building was well cared for. It did strike us as quite odd that on the beautiful day we went, there was virtually no residents around anywhere. The interior of the building was quite stale and felt very "nursing home". The "sales" woman who showed us around was a bit pushy and did not allow us to spend any real time reviewing the place without her in close ear shot. Although the facility was alright, it was definately not the "having fun being a senior" that my mother in law was looking for.

My grandmother began staying during the fall of 2010. So far, most of our experiences with The Arbors have been very positive. The facilities are very well kept, and messes are cleaned up very quickly. There is a suprising variety of activities offered there, and when I have gone to visit my grandma she has often been excited at the experiences she has had living there. Because my grandmother has her own one bedroom apartment, she has been able to retain a great deal of her independence while living there. Aside from some minor complaints about the menu offered, she has been very happy there, and it is nice knowing that she is in a safe and comfortable place.
