This facility had no idea we were visiting them. The residents seemed happy; however, since we suprised the staff, it was extremely awkward. The person who greeted us did not speak fluent English but put us in touch with the facility manager. She was polite and respectful and told me she would contact me with the other facilities that had openings. She did not do that.

What I liked about Loving Care Assisted Living IV very much is that they had more than one nurse or attendant. With the other place, because it was out so far, it was a little unnerving that if there was a medical emergency or something, I don't know how they would get the residents, other than calling an ambulance, and how they would attend to everybody else. I liked it very much. In fact, I would choose this for my parents. It's in the middle of Havre de Grace. It's centrally located right in town. They had lots of places to walk. They said they take their residents out. There's a park close by. It's fairly clean. It was larger than the other place. They have a designated shower area, which is great, as opposed to just a bathroom. The other place had a tub where you had to sit on something and get into the tub for a shower. The staff was very bubbly. I love the way she joked around with the residents. They were all very happy and comfortable. She warned me ahead of time that a couple of residents, one in particular, would ask if they could go outside, and leave the building and it was cute. She was also very knowledgeable and informative. She knew about everything that was going on. In fact, they are getting ready to build an addition. Right now, they have rooms for two people sharing. The expansion that they're doing will make the rooms a little larger so they can accommodate a couple, which would be my mom and dad. They do activities, games, and things like that.
