My grandmother lived in an assisted living facility. She enjoyed living there. The facility was set up like a hotel. There were many floors, perhaps more than six or seven. Each resident had their own apartment. Each apartment door opened up an inside hallway much like a hotel. On the first floor was a cafeteria that reminded me of a restaurant style cafeteria. Although my grandmother enjoyed spending much of her time alone, the facility was known to hold many activities for the residents to attend if they wanted. Even though this was a facility for more elderly people, when visiting in my grandmother's apartment I never felt like it was anything more than simply her independent apartment in what felt like an apartment complex. I'm hoping she felt the same as well.
