Westminister Tower

We visited Westminister Tower in Kenner and secured a senior apartment there. They were remodeling their units, and they have a lot of vacancies. They're totally renovating their buildings, and it's a senior apartment with subsidized rent, so that's what made our decision. It's an open lobby, and they have nice office spaces. There were residents that were outside, and I spoke with a couple just to see how they felt about the complex and their living arrangements, and I got positive feedback, so that was a plus in moving in that direction. It's independent living, so you have a full-size apartment there, one-bedroom or efficiency ones, which come with a living room, a bedroom, a bath, and a kitchen where you do your own cooking. Right now, a lot of the residents have their own vehicles, so they're still driving to take care of whatever their needs may be. They're under new management, and they're just getting started bringing in new residents. They have a path that the residents can go out and walk. They have seating areas outside for visiting guests too. They do not serve meals because it's all independent living. The staff members were pleasant. They inform you about the things you need to apply for, and you go from there and complete the applications. You turn in all the needed paperwork, and they do background checks. I think they check your credit score and criminal background. They check your past rentals and see how you were with making your payment. I don't think they worry too much about employment, but I guess if you work they would check your employment status too.
