"Well,when you walk in you are greeted by a friendly face at the door.It is a designated worker assigned just for that job of greeting people and finding out if they would like some help in finding a patients room.There is also a very large and accomidating t.v/lounge type room.There is a large screen television and several large,comfortable sofa's and chairs to set down in.Down the wide hall way and to you right is a very inviting recreational room.This room has many tables and chairs.It also has a ping pong table for the residents to enjoy.Many of the residents enjoy playing this game and several were setting around at the tables playing cards as well as bingo.The kitchen workers regularly bring around various snacks and drinks for the residents to enjoy.On sundays,this room is turned into a gathering room for church.There are several local preachers and area singers who give of their time every sunday to come and be a blessing to these people.The residents carry their own bibles in and really seem to get a lot out of this time.The facility seemed to be very clean and tidy.It had a nice fresh smell to it as well.Over all,I believe this facility to be one of the best in the state. "

"Corbin Health & Rehab has been great. They really work with us and gotten to know my father. They're taking great care of him and they've been able to build communication with him. They keep up with his care. He does not participate in a lot of activities because of his medical issues. But I know that they have different church services that come in. They also have bingo, checkers, they just did a Valentine's party. Last Christmas and New Year's, they gave a lot of the residents little noisemakers and you can hear them all over the building. I know there's a calendar of things that the residents can do. The food has been really good. My father seems to like everything. The times I've been there, it's been good and a well-balanced meal. They cater to his liking, too. He's a chocolate nut, so they always have something chocolate on his plate. The rooms to me are a little bit small and cramped. But for his needs, it's been okay. Overall, it's been a good experience. "

"the outside grounds were nicely kept and the fountain in the flower bed was a very pretty. the inside looked a bit older but everything was clean and in working order. the home interior and decor gave the place a nice touch and it felt more like a home environment instead of a sterile hospital like environment. the staff was polite and professional. the office staff was very informative and helped to answer a lot of my questions. i got to look at the lunch menus and activities. i was impressed with their rehabilitation services and felt confident with making this facility one of my choices. "I personally have had many experiences with assisted living facilities like the Mc Kee Senior Citizens Center. I must say that this living facility is by far the absolute best I have ever seen or ever been to. My grandmother is currently a resident of this facility and she is very happy there. Every time I have ever been there she is always well taken care of and all she seems to do is rave about the caretakers there. I, like most people out there, have heard all of those horrible stories about living facilities and what they seem to be like, however, this living facility is nothing like the horrible stories that you may have heard or seen in the movies. This center takes care of each individual equally and in my opinion is always a step above the rest. I have never had any ill feelings about leaving my grandmother at the Mc Kee Senior Citizens Center. As a matter of fact, I feel very comfortable with her being there because I know that she is being taken care of as good as or even better than I could. "

"Care was good except one nurse on 3rd shift named Amanda she was suppose to check my sugar every 2 hours did not , suppose to tell me I was not support to eat after midnight did not I had to tell her what was going on .she tried to blame 1st shift but she got the orders after 1st left .i do not recommend her for no one all other staff was Great !!! "My Mother in law was there for a few years,the folks there were polite and knowledgeable,the food was like hospital food-but was fresh,the building is old and in need of upkeep and repairs,stains on ceiling tile,different colors of paint spotted on walls,Our negative issue of this facility was care:Every time we visit mom,her urine bag had to be emptied-as if it had not been emptied for some time,plus she would have bed sores-they were worse and worse,instead of getting better upon each visit,one sore on her foot had gotten so bad-her foot had to be amputated,this occurred after we moved her from the this facility.Also,my wife made mom a quilt and laid it on moms bed,to keep her warm,upon next visit,the blanket was gone,nobody knew where it was and no one remember seeing the blanket to begin with.So we have mixed emotions about this facility "

"I have been in Williamburg about a year as I had a hip implant and a neuropathy in my left leg. The food is very good. It is very clean, and it is rated the no. 1 facility in this part of Kentucky. They have special treatment for patients who have memory disorders. It is a 24hr care facility. My people who run in the therapy are very good. We go on five local trips each month; we go to restaurants, church services on Sunday, and other games and activities. I would absolutely recommend the facility. It’s a very good place to go for the variety of problems that are associated with aging. It is a little bit small, but it is satisfactory. "

"We were so glad to have Rockastle Rehab to turn to when my grandmother became ill. The staff there was well trained and provided excellent care for her. The people working there were kind, courteous, and for the most part always patient and thoughtful. Most of them took care of her like she was their grandmother, too. That made it so much easier for us to leave her, knowing she was in good hands while we couldn't be with her. The physical therapists worked wonders with her, they had her exercising more than we had been able to get her to do at home! She enjoyed the various activities, especially the outings, and she made many friends there. The one thing she did not care for there was the food, but then nothing in the world compares to home cooking. The place was always clean, the staff was awesome, and I know they took great care of my grandmother. "

"I went to visit a friend that was in Sunrise Manor. When I first walked in there was a smell that was so strong and bold that would knock you down. I was amazed that they was not doing something to help the smell. I have vivited other nursing homes in my life and never had that bad of a smell.After getting through the main entrance, I noticed in front nurse station there was several patients sitting around in thier wheelchairs and some in their jerry chairs. Some awake just starring off and some were asleep. I did not see any nurses at all. I went on down the hall and went to the room where my friend was. She was sitting in a chair sad. I asked her what was wrong and she said that no one ever comes in to see her and she had hollered for someone to help her get up & go to the bathroom but no one ever came. So I helped her to the bathroom. We sat there and talked for a few then I asked her if she wanted to take a stroll so I helped her in the wheelchair and we walked toward the dining area. While we were walking I noticed on the hallway wall they had a huge calender with different activities that was scheduled throughout the month. I was pleased to see this as some patients need things to occupy their minds to help them from feeling lonely, depressed, or unwanted. When we arrived in dining area there were several other patients sitting around. There was a group in there volunteering thier time to sing for the patients. We sat there for a few listening to the music..I was watching the other patients, some were really into the music & some didnt even realize what was going on.After we got up from the singing we went out to the enclosed area outside as it was a prettyu day..but there was a fat rabbit. My lady friend was so happy and smiling and laughing about that lil rabbit. We sat out there for few then we headed back in.I was there and walked around for about an hr and I only saw 2 aides/nurse. I have worked in the nursing home field in my past and while viviting this facility it all came back to me..how sad that patients cant get more 1 on 1 time..how some patients dont have family and the workers become thier famiuly. I am sure if I asked either of the ladies I saw if they could do more they would have said yes! Its sad they are understaffed and under appreciated. (I am talking about most nursing home workers in general) I am still in the caregiving field however nursing homes are NOT my choice. I do private care now so that when I have a patient they can get the 1 on 1 time and attention they need.I wish that the nursing homes would allow more time for the aides/nurses to spend with every patient. I know that if you have 150 patients and only 12 people working a shift its hard to do. But the patients are the ones who are paying for the facility to be there and at the end of the day they are also paying for it by NOT getting anything extra than what the law says they have to have... "

"Somerset Active Day has been a life saver for my two individuals, they have been going for at least 20 years, the daycare staff is always willing to assist you with what ever you need, they are a friendly staff, whom alway great you with the warmest hello. They care for the individuals whom attend, this is not a day care center, it is a learning center, my individual come daily with activity that they had worked durning the course of the day, I am so glad to have Somerset active day in our community. "I have family at The Crestview Personal Care/Assisted Living. The Crestview is actually two separate buildings. There is a personal care facility and an assisted living facility. There is no skilled nursing facility available at The Crestview. The personal care is for clients like my family member who needs more help with their daily activities and the Assisted living facility offers a safe environment for capable clients who simply do not need to live alone anymore. Yes both building could use some cosmetic improvements but please do not judge a book by it's cover. There is a lot of love in both facilities and everyone is treated as family. "
