We are incredibly grateful for the care our mother received at Medicalodge of Goddard. The staff ( from the administrator, all the nursing staff, to the kitchen staf, and housekeeping staff) treated mom like family, providing not only professional care but also warmth and compassion. The food was always made with love, and you could tell it was prepared with great attention to detail. We felt confident and comforted knowing she was in such a caring environment. She had her favorite staff and you know who you are.

I visited Medicalodges Goddard. I know it has been there for a very long time. It seemed to be clean enough. Everybody was friendly. Even some of the residents spoke to me, but it is very dated. I believe they're in the process of trying to do some fundraising so they can renovate. The staff I met with was friendly. The dining room was very small. I think it's just a much smaller facility all around. I didn't observe any activities while I was there, and I didn't receive any literature because it was kind of ruled out right away. The staff members were helpful, too.

The staff is very friendly and caring. Medicalodges is a nice place; the only problem was she would have to share a bathroom, and she only has one room. She needed more room than that, which is why we didn't choose that facility. They were nice but we didn't stay very long. It was a good location.

The workers there are usually very friendly and patient with the residents and with visitors. They don't seem to be troubled by working with residents who have difficulties communicating and/or walking. I have had some negative experiences with them, however. For some reason, a few weeks ago, they forgot to notify me that my relative who is staying there was out of a particular medication. This late notice caused me to pay a $50 fee to the pharmacy that insurance would not cover because of the Medical Lodges mistake. All of my other experiences with them have been positive though, so I give this facility a 4/5.

This is a continuum of care community located in the rural community of Goddard, just west of Wichita. For those interested in a less busy environment, this is a good choice. The assisted living side is cozy and the food is good. The social service department is helpful and an activity director keeps a full monthly schedule of events. Social hours are scheduled regularly for the residents. I would recomment this place for those with mild to mid dementia because it is smaller and more home-like; caring staff and family friendly. The nursing home side looks a bit more institutional, but again, if you enjoy the more calm and quiet of the country, this is a good choice. Be sure to check the public survey.
