I like that Pleasant Care Living Center is in a small community and it has a small town feel to it. The staff there seemed very, very friendly and very upfront with information. It smelled a little bit, but a lot of them do. They have memory care there, too. My husband felt like the private room was too small, but I told him that all private rooms are small. You're not going to find anything bigger. They didn't have a separate shower for the private room. You have to go down the hallway for a shower. But it is an old building, so it wouldn't have accommodated that.

I found the staff to be acceptable. They took care of the residents at the home and were attentive to their needs. I was slightly concerned by the number of the staff members in relation to the number of residents at the home, because it seemed to me that the 8 employees there could scarcely take care of the large number of elderly people there. Then again, it's not like they are high maintenance, but there is still a slight concern for their safety. This may also have to do with the fact that the town is very small. My mother already traveled from a different town to work there, and it's no wonder that there would be a shortage of qualified employees to take care of the residents.
