Emerald Place has Independent living, assisted living, memory care and advanced life care all in the same community. Our current average age is 87, with some residents in their late 60's and few in their late 90's to early 100's. We have a full time activities director and we have 5-6 activities planned daily. We typically have anywhere from 35-45 residents in our community.
What programs or activities does Emerald Place offer to enrich residents' well-being?
We have a full time activities director and we have 5-6 activities planned daily. Their favorite things to do are listening to live music, taking group trips to Walmart and out to eat, weekly Bingo, weekly beauty shop visits, spa days, word searches, crafts, book club and prayer group.

Transportation within activities includes trips to the local grocery, Eastside Park, Dollar General, Walmart and restaurants
What transportation services does Emerald Place offer to assisted living residents?
Emerald offers day trip transportation during and for activities and when arranged, can take residents to and from their doctors appointments; Within 30 minutes from our community.
What makes the chef or dining program at Emerald Place exceptional? What kind of menu can assisted living residents expect?
We have two chefs that make 3 home cooked meals daily. We have restaurant like dinning services where you pick your meals for the following day. Emerald has over 15 substitute items to chose from, if you do not like what is being served we will gladly sub it out. A few favorites are meatloaf with mashed potatoes and gravy, Cooked ham with sweet potato casserole and fried chicken or shrimp with corn bread and green beans with onions and bacon. Yummy!
What safety features or security measures does Emerald Place offer to assisted living residents?
Emerald has automatic lock doors with codes to enter and exit our building. We also have a Wonder-guard system to help keep some of our Memory Care residents safe. In each of our residents rooms you will find an integrated alarm system that will send a notification to our floor Nurse and Certified Nursing Assistance. If needed we can also provide alarm pendants, for those residents that might be a fall risk, at no additional cost.
How does Emerald Place keep residents' families informed about their loved ones?
Our staff is very transparent with our communication with residents and with our families. We have an open door policy where we believe to better our services by knowing things that need to be improved. Our families are very active at Emerald Place and we believe we are better for it! At this time we are sending daily emails, with direct phone calls about any changes in health of their loved ones or with any COVID policy changes.
What is the care staff-to-resident ratio at Emerald Place during daytime and nighttime hours?
This varies according to our service points. RN/LPN/QMA and CNA's on floor at all times.
If Emerald Place accepts dogs or cats, what indoor/outdoor areas can they enjoy?
We do accept furry family members! we have a fenced in courtyard and walking path outside our community.
What ongoing senior care training does the staff receive?
Our entire staff is trained on memory care, dementia/Alzheimer's, first aid and CPR, abuse and neglect, disaster/emergency training and infection control.
What safety features or security measures does Emerald Place provide to protect residents who wander?
Our staff will always try to redirect our residents. We get to know them and know their likes and dislikes. All doors have automatic locks with a Wander-guard system that will alert to resident and staff that they are too close to the outside doors.
