"The staff at Bickford of Peoria is excellent. We did a respite visit for my mother there, and we're doing another one this Friday. The community is very lovely, well taken care of, there are lively themes in different areas, and it's very spacious. They offer the ability to take your loved ones to doctors' appointments should you need them to, they do laundry independent of each resident, and they have private rooms."

"Lutheran Hillside Village is a continuing care facility. It starts with independent living, then they have assisted living, then it goes to memory care. They have a rehab center there. Everything is there. My sister lives there in an independent home. She can go to assisted living if need be or memory care. It's much bigger than the other place, and they offer a lot more. They have a pool, which they didn't have when my sister first moved in about seven years ago or so. It just seemed very clean and very nice. I've eaten there many times because I visited my sister down there. The food is pretty good. It's not anything to write home about, but at least they have food. They have several dining rooms, the main dining room, a smaller cafe for lunch and breakfast if you wanted to just do that, and you can get takeout. During COVID, they delivered everything to everybody's place. They have transportation. Her home is huge. They have what they consider a boat-size garage. You can get two cars plus and she has all kinds of storage. They replace everything when people move in, all the appliances, all the carpeting, it all gets repainted. It's done again because you're buying into it. The staff is super nice. They do everything for you. They keep it immaculate. The grounds are kept. Everything is kept up, and her place is just huge. It's all wheelchair accessible, so the bathrooms are really big. She has two bathrooms and two bedrooms and one of the bedrooms is huge. The other one is good sized, too. She's got king size bed in both of them. She has a little screened-in porch off the back, a living room, a dining room, a big kitchen, and laundry right there for her use. The people seemed super friendly. I know they have exercise, and games, and they take them to golf outings. They have stuff going on all the time. She just hasn't been able to participate. We stayed there because they have rooms for people that are visiting residents there, so that's always been a good experience for us. I know that she got on a really good deal, but they don't offer the same rate as she got in there any more. She said it's pretty expensive now."

"My parents will be moving in to Liberty Village of Geneseo this March 22nd. We chose them because the size of the town is smaller, and my dad can still hopefully drive around for a little while. We couldn't go in because of COVID. We just sat outside with the director and she was so helpful in answering my questions and talking to my parents. They're going in for the independent living, but they have assisted living and memory care if we need it. We went into one empty apartment that they were getting ready to get painted. The apartment was just normal, but they had a courtyard in the middle, and I liked that idea. I liked that kind of a neighborhood feel. The location was great because even though Geneseo is a small town, it has a hospital, so I liked that a lot."

"Buehler Home is one of those place where you pay a lot of money upfront. The sales director was very nice and very helpful and showed us the rooms which were very clean. The dining room was nice, orderly, and clean. You can go from independent living to assisted living to a skilled nursing home all in one place. We only saw two or three residents, but it was very nice. I would live there. "
