"At Home Senior Living of Jesup was very clean and nice at a reasonable price. All things are included in the price. The thing I liked least would be you had to furnish your own room. The staff was very informative, easy to talk to, and did a good job. They had several nice sitting areas, a nice dining area, a nice activity area, and a nice porch where you can go out and sit."

"My first impression of Pierce County Nursing Home was that the staff was very friendly. All of the nice ladies and gentlemen working behind the sign in desks were smiling and joyful. However, once I got a peek of the nurses, my view was slightly shifted. While there were a lot of cheerful RN's and even some chipper LPN's, it seemed as if most of the CNA's were miserable. I understand that their job is not the best, but the residents have to see the CNA's quite often, and it would not hurt for them to be more cheerful. The next thing I noticed about PCNH is that the food their looked delicious. Actually, when I toured the facility we were able to sit down and eat lunch with the residents, and the food tasted quite delicious as well. I do believe that the rooms of the residents looked a slightly large, but they definitely could use an update of color and decor. "

"It's actually very pretty and quiet around Baptist Village. My great grandma never complained about it, even when her daughter did. She liked it, and she got to go outside a lot. It's sort of countryish out there, and it made her feel good to go outside and listen to all the insects because she was from an old farmhouse out in the country. The staff was usually friendly and courteous, though my great-grandma did complain sometimes about a particular lady (nurse? caretaker?). She was young and "always a bitch." Apparently stuff gets stolen there sometimes, though I think my grandma exaggerated it a little bit. I'm not sure about the food there, but it always looked and smelled wrong to me. I assumed it's because there are so many people there with various digestive problems that they have to make the food differently or something. I'm not expert on health, so I don't know if that's the explanation or not.The grounds of the place are lovely. It's out on the edge of town, quiet and sunny. There is a HUGE tree there that I just love. I think it's an oak. As nursing homes in Waycross go, Baptist Village is probably the best. "

"We're leaning towards Baptist Village - The Villas at Waycross for my mother. The tour was very nice and very informative. Everything was clean inside. The staff was very friendly. I felt like my mom would be in good hands there. We toured it for independent living, but we wanted to be able to increase her care as needed. We saw a tennis court, and they had a pavilion there, so the family could come and visit, and there's like a barbecue area. I wasn't paying too much attention to activities, but it looked like they had a social hall. They have an activities director. The staff during the tour was very informative. She showed us all the living situations. She answered any questions we had and talked about things that we didn't think of asking. I liked it."

"During the first visit that I made to Baptist Village, my grandmother was in the alzheimers unit. The workers were friendly and spoke highly of my grandmother to us. The facility is beautiful and secure. There is a guard at the gate with a friendly demeanor. During the second visit, my grandmother was moved to another unit in which she had a room mate. The room mate did not have dementia and appeared to be sweet. She stated that she liked the facility and told us that our grandmother often calls our names. At the last visit that I had, I was thoroughly impressed by the staff and the facility. There were three things that I was impressed with: The first was when I observed a staff member feeding my grandmother. She was pleasant and loving toward my grandmother, encouraging her to eat as much as she could. The second reason was that while I waited for my grandmother I stood outside a bird cage in the facility listening to the sweet chirps of the birds. It created a peaceful and friendly environment. The third thing that I was impressed with and actually made me teary was when I was in my grandmother's room and there was only one birthday day card on the dresser. It was one from the staff at Baptist Village. Since my grandmother has dementia, my sister and I had stopped sending cards. This gesture by the staff prompted me to begin sending cards and on Mother's day I purchased a card, put a picture in it and sent it to her. "
