Overall the Chautauqua center is built well, and physically maintained well. It is clean on the inside and out, and has a very presentable appearance. The facility offers a courtyard and cafeteria, and a social lobby for residents. I however was very displeased with the service being provided, there were at times residents sitting in the hallway for hours in their wheelchair, doing nothing but drooling and moaning. It is not the facility itself but most definitely some of the workers present. Some of the caregivers I met were extremely polite and well mannered, however some chose to look at you with daggers, and ignore you entirely. My own grandmother was neglected a few times until we pulled her out of the facility. She was left in bed all day, and wasn't given a bath. It seems like some workers preferred to give them their pills for the day and leave them alone. Great facility with poor staffing, it needs better management.

Rooms are filthy and moldy. Food is disgusting and most of the staff rude to indifferent and lazy. Rehabilitation is a joke.

Mom was in respiratory distress. Could not get help. Everyone said they would get someone...no one. After 90 minutes, we requested she go to hospital. The staff wanted her to stay and give breathing treatments. Just went to hospital and on ventilator! She was in hospital last week from their care as well for severe impaction on tube feeding!

My mom was there two weeks recovering from broken hip but was neglected and had to be sent to ER for emergency surgery due to clots in her leg with black heel and toes and a large decubitus ulcer on her coccyx. She was never got up out of bed and only bathed once. She had complained from day one of pain in her leg and was basically ignored, given pain meds and her foot and backside never treated until sister raised heck getting her treatment for both. Had to be sent to ER for a Vascular surgeon to try to save her leg and now has to undergoe extensive rehab at another rehab just to try to regain movement in her leg, receive treatment of ulcer with hopes of not needing skin graph, and hopefully be able to walk after being left in bed for two weeks with no rehab of hip. So 😡
