The Best Assisted Living Communities in Bledsoe County, TN

"The Veranda at Life Care Center of Rhea County was a fairly large facility. They had a whole calendar of activities and they took seniors out to restaurants once a month. They also take them to the bank, to Walmart, and other places, so they had a lot going on for their assisted living residents. There is also a nursing home attached to it. My father-in-law has dementia and this is more of an assisted living facility; it is not like a memory care facility or anything. For people with dementia -- especially advanced dementia -- I don't think they would have the right type of care. I really did not see anything on which they needed to improve. They had rooms available, but it is a newer facility, so it hadn't filled up yet. The nursing facility was full, but the assisted living facility still had openings. "

"The Courtyard staff was very kind and helpful when I called with questions or visited. The owner, David, made himself available 24/7 to myself and my family. Their Director of Nursing always contacted me and notified me of any changes or anything she thought I needed to be aware of. We were so comfortable and slept easy at night knowing mom was in their care. "

"I feel very good about the care my mother gets at Golden Years. It feels like a large, happy home, with loving, personal attention by the staff and medical care provided either on-site or by transportation to local services. They cook actual home-style, tasty, healthy meals and provide all levels of assistance, as needed, from bathing, dressing, blood-sugar-testing, etc. I cannot imagine I'd have found a better place for my mother - she had received sub-par care in far more expensive facilities prior to moving her to Golden Years from out of state. The all-inclusive monthly fee is extremely good value. The only drawback perhaps is that the local hospital may not provide the spectrum of care needed by some people - you need to look into this first. By the way, Golden Years took good care of my grandmother, too, who passed at the age of nearly 107, after 7 years of dedicated care there. They are extremely patient and understanding of residents with dementia, and the facility is well secured."

"I have visited many people in the facility. I think the employees work very hard for each individual in that building the respect they have for their residents are absolutely outstanding. The food they served was very good I even had the option to eat with my friends that was pretty nice. The cna s are wxceptional and the nurses were very good on being on top of their medicines. I continue to visit folks there. Very good place. Just go check it out. "

"It is called Upland Village at Pleasant Hill. We were connected to a mutual friend who was here. It was a boarding school for local kids for a number of years that eventually morphed into a continuing care community. It has three levels. There are independent houses that are scattered in the village. We are roughly half of the population of the small village. Most of our members lived in the independent houses. We do have an assisted living facility and nursing home facility. My wife and I are in the independent houses. We have so many activities that I'm frustrated that we never have time for ourselves. The reason my wife is not here is because she's off to an activity playing her drums with another resident who is playing the piano for the assisted living dinner time entertainment. There is an exercise program called Flex and Stretch. There is a musical ensemble where members play in a group. There is a play reading group, a bridge group, and a program called Shalom that brings outside speakers. The staff is one of the things to recommend about this place. The staff is devoted, excellent, very warm, and caring. The memberships are very warm and caring as well. The independent houses are divided into neighborhoods with typically six to eight houses in each. Everybody takes care of each other, so if somebody is ill or has a problem, everybody helps out. "

"My mom has been staying at Cumberland Ridge for close to two months now. It's very nicely-decorated, nice, and clean. The staff is all very friendly and helpful. The services have all been very good and there are no upcharges. They have a dining room which everybody goes to to eat their meals. My mom has a single room, with her bed, two chairs, her TV, a dresser, a nice closet, and a bathroom. It's a good size for one person. They have exercise, guest preachers who come in every day, birthday parties, bingo, and a library."
