"My mother is in Oak Landing. From what we've experienced, the care has been pretty good. The staff members are all sweet and nice, and they're good to her, and that's all I care about."

"Mountain Cove Assisted Living was very nice. It had a large dining room, a large outside area, and it was very peaceful. The rooms were a bit small. The staff was very nice and very informative. They would provide snacks anytime, they would put on parties once every two months, and they had someone that would do exercise classes. They also had a big patio where you could go outside. It was very pretty out there."

"Legacy Village is an excellent, top-notch, very clean, brand-new facility with no smells and excellent food. It has an in-house chef, in-house barber shop and beauty salon, two solariums, outdoor areas, rocking chairs, and excellent staffing. We love the place and highly recommend it. It has only been there a few years, and they recently doubled the size to accommodate dementia patients. It is gorgeous and reminds me of a very high-class hotel. It is decorated beautifully. They offer a lot for the residents to do. "

"The Autumn Woods Assisted Living is a small place with 16 residents. It's very homey and very good. The staff is great. My father has a studio apartment. They really haven't had any activities because of the pandemic. They have books that they can read."

"My mother was in Branchwater Village, LLC for a while. The people who work there were nice, but management was a little iffy. The room was a good size. It was adequate. She was moved from assisted living to independent living. The dining area was very nice. The food was good the day I went. The activities were outstanding. They were doing something every day. The staff was very good with the residents. They're attentive."

"The experience of my mother staying at the Magnolia House was truly a gift from God. She was not only well cared for, but surrounded by loving friends, new and old, who truly formed a caring community. They were excellent communicating with me, working with me and my mother to improve her care when needed, and comforting her in the midst of progression of Alzheimer's. Our small town is blessed to have such a fantastic facility! "

"My dad was a resident. The staff there was great. They were very involved, helping him a lot by bringing him meals, and helping him get dressed. The layout is gorgeous inside. When you walk in, there are fireplaces, and they always decorate, making it look like a place you'd want to go on vacation. It looks like a chalet. We had several meals with him, and they offered a lot of fresh options, including different dietary choices like kosher meals. The food wasn't fantastic, but it wasn't bad either. They have a lot of activities, but my dad wasn't very involved or interested in them. They had music, and I looked at their calendar, it just seemed like there were so many great things going on."

"The facility itself was lovely. Staff were very helpful and cleanliness was not an issue. I felt safe, secure and at ease walking around the site. Tenants looked as happy as they could be and were treated well by the staff. The only thing I could knock them for was their attitude towards guests. However I suppose, it is better that they treat their patients right rather than the guests. Thank you. "

"My dad is currently at Oak Circle Assisted Living. It is homey, there is only 16 rooms and it is a family-owned business. It is nice and small. The staff are nice and very accommodating. He likes to have a certain kind of breakfast and they're fixing it for him. He likes fried eggs and they're giving him fried eggs. The room is a little bit smaller than where he was at before but I think it is probably tough for him to get around now, so that is even better for him. It is a small place. The dining room is nice and the kitchen looks large homey. There is a place to go out and watch television, like a gathering area, where they do puzzles. Everything else is just like a straight line with 8 rooms on one side and 8 on the other."

"My mom was a very independent person and when she moved here from Tuscaloosa she wanted to live alone. That worked for about two years. Then she knew and I knew that we needed help. I began to look at a couple of places and when I looked at Autumn Cove I knew that was the correct place for us. She’s at home here. She receives excellent care here. It’s been a wonderful four years for us. We know our family could not make it without it and we appreciate all the wonderful care we’ve gotten. "

"Dugger Mountain was a very nice, smaller facility. They were very caring and helpful. The dining area was just a small kitchen area with about three or four tables and chairs, and it wasn't really fancy. They were very gracious. The staff was very good and quite nice. It was a very quiet place and sort of tucked away in a small community. They only have ten or 12 rooms in the memory care section."

"I toured Bridgewood Gardens. The lady who took us around was very friendly. Everybody was very friendly because we were taking a tour. It was clean, and everything was fine. It would have been okay. It was close enough to our house. However, when we got down to the cost and they called in with the cost on that, I told the lady, I said, save your little time and it's cost prohibitive. It's way too much money. Because it started at, I don't know, 5500 and by the time they did this and that, we have to do this and that. It was like 7000 a month. And I said, "No, we're not doing that." Even five is too high. And so, we talked for a bit and then she said, "Well, what is your budget?" And I said, "Well, I can't tell you my budget, but I can tell you 7000 is out of the question." And she said, "Well, we might be able to find you a smaller room for 4800 a month." And I said, "Smaller than the room you showed us?". I said, "What is it? A closet in a hallway." And she kind of laughed. She goes, "Well, it is smaller." I said, "No, we're not interested." And so that was the end of it. I have no intention to call them back or bring my wife there. It was an older facility, but it's being renovated, and clean as a pin. I have nothing bad to say about the facility or the people who work there. It's just cost prohibitive. It's way too much money."

"The residents at The Village at Cook Springs seemed happy. They have a lot of activities for the residents, and everyone was very friendly. It looks beautiful and very clean. They have Bingo, shopping, parties, fishing, and so on. The food smelled delicious and the people lined up early to eat, so that's a good indicator."

"My aunt is staying in the Cherokee County Health and Rehab Center. Their staffing ratios are very safe, and they have a lot of activities, and they're very good with her. She seems very happy. She's in a single bedroom. Station five is where she's at, which is all just single-occupant rooms, and everyone there seems very well taken care of. The staff is very nice. They get along very well with my aunt. She's probably one of their favorite patients because they are used to dealing with people who aren't able to have the recollection, memory, and recall to have a good conversation. They have multiple activities throughout the day. They throw big events like a month or so ago, they had Elvis Presley visit, and everyone dressed up like they're nice, and today they have a pianist come in to perform for them, and I thought that was nice."
