Our experience with Mentor (Home) Hospice of the Western Reserve can be described as poor at best. We met with their rep the day before our loved one was scheduled to leave the hospital who told us that a "team" would meet us at home when our loved one arrived on Friday, have 24/7 access to medical emergency on Saturday and Sunday, oversee the in home care providers we had hired and bring all medial supplies that we would require. One RN arrived at least two hours after our loved one was home after several phone calls. There was not enough medication in the comfort care package, missing materials for the in home care company, caused the in home care people to wait two hours (hope they bill them), came out once on Saturday and once on Sunday after lots of phone calls and gave contradictory advice on our loved one's care. The team showed up on Monday afternoon (Our loved one died early Tuesday morning) and were virtually worthless.to us. If we hadn't had the in home care people who were awesome, we would have been lost. There has to be better home hospice available and please search for any of them but Mentor (Home) Hospice of the Western Reserve
