We chose Lourdes Hospice because they're affiliated with the hospital where my wife got her regular treatment. Hospice provided us with aide that came 3x a week and a nurse, a social worker and a spiritual nun that came once a week. The aide was spectacular. My issue was just with the nurse. Before my wife went on hospice, she was doing some chemotherapy and at the end we stopped it and all she took was fluid. The fluid was definitely calming her. We were trying to get hospice to give her fluids but that was not the normal course of reaction of care for somebody who is on hospice. They did not want to break from their tradition even though we had history of fluids making my wife feel better. Finally, the supervisor of the nurse said because we want it they'll do it, then my wife responded okay. I didn't appreciate the nurse saying it will lead to her lungs and so forth. It was not a perfect experience with the hospice. I had some issues with the primary nurse but overall it was good.
