Hospice Compassus - Monett

Please check ratings and reviews of other hospice providers before choosing Compassus. We have had several hospice experiences over the years with friends and loved ones, but this was the only bad one. I believe it was simply poor management. Though hospice began to make visits about a week prior to our loved ones passing, the family was clueless about his condition or how to care for him. Everyone thought we still had a month or so with him at least. When I arrived to help my mother care for him, there were no supplies whatsoever left for his care. After making some phone calls, an adjustable bed was delivered (with no one to help get him into it and he was too weak to walk). This was only a little more than 24 hours before his passing. After yet another phone call, letting them know we had no gloves, wipes, or any other supplies (and we DESPARATELY needed them), they informed us that they would be delivered next day (not before he passed away). His pain was not managed in the last hours, though we made more phone calls. No hospice visits were made until I called and said I truly thought he was dying. A nurse came and confirmed....then left. She did not even offer to stay or give any advise to us about what to do through and after the process. I only give two stars because the staff was very friendly. Unfortunately, we needed more than friendliness during this time. I do hope Compassus gets better organized. It seems the left hand never knew what the right hand was doing, so of course, the family was even more clueless.
