Our 85 year old mother who has Alzheimers and who lives in Massachusetts has received marginal care from the principal of Independent Living Solutions (ILS). Our family does not live near our mother, and we hoped that hiring a care manager would help to ensure our mother's well-being. We have been extremely disappointed and we recommend that all families steer clear of Independent Living Solutions! We had some concerns over the past 2 years, but it took a recent in-home emergency to shed the light on the extent of our mother's decline under the care of ILS. We found that the skin near her coccyx had been compromised and her personal hygiene had not been attended to (nails were long and hair had not been washed). There was no written Care Plan in the home, no communication log with information about medications, daily schedule, staffing, nutritional intake, exercise etc. Our hearts have been broken by the poor care provided our mother and we know that the decline over the last 2 years will never be restored. Protect your loved one - stay away from Independent Living Solutions!
