Vitas Healthcare hospice was our lifeline during my husband's long illness. They provided us with all the equipment and supplies that we needed so my husband could be at home. The nurse and aides were extremely knowledgeable, extremely caring , attentive, on time, explained all treatment and options and treated my husband with dignity. When he needed round the clock care, the nurse gave us the option to take him to a rehab facility not far from our house that had a Hospice wing. They made a bed for him right away in the facility and it didn't take very long. The facility was clean, the nurses complete angels and again treated my husband with grace and dignity. The night he passed, the night nurse Laura quietly stayed with him and was with him when he passed. I will be eternally grateful to her and all of those amazing nurses. During and after his death, I was visited many times by a Chaplain and Social Worker to help me transition into a life without him and will continue for a year. A very smart and fabulous program for the patient and caregivers. Very well run and a totally comprehensive program! Thank you from the bottom of my heart Vita's
