My loved one was at Alexander Cohen Hospice House. I think the amenities were outstanding. It was a very comfortable, well-kept place, like a 5-star hotel. They were open to getting her anything that she needed and wanted. Her doctor had an amazing bedside manner. When you first walk in, it's extremely clean and furnished extremely well. It had a warm, homey feeling, a place where you would want to have your loved one stay.

My 79 year old Mother spent her last days in the Alexander Cohen Hospice House in Hughson and I couldn't be more thankful that we decided to have her cared for there. My mom was a nurse who had worked in skilled nursing facilities in the past - and she absolutely hated them. We were extremely anxious about having her "in a home" before her death. Unfortunately, her condition deteriorated to the point where she needed 24-hour care for the increasing pain and anxiety associated with her illness... we just couldn't do it at home. The nurses, doctors, volunteers and assistants at Alexander Cohen Hospice House were incredibly compassionate and caring, providing constant attention to pain management and psychological health. They not only cared for my mom, but they cared for our family. The facility is the further thing from a typical "hospital" or clinical feel. There's no weird smells. There's no moaning patients. There's no "waiting rooms" with stressed out people. It's like your own living room with comfortable couches, a kitchen, music, a beautiful water feature and large, spacious and open rooms. I couldn't be happier with this place and the care they provided. We have decided to have all her remembrances and donations sent to this hospice house. It's just the right place at the right time.

Excellent and caring staff. Except one. K.... Something. Rude and aggressive. Otherwise this facility is wonderful.

Alexander Cohen has nice rooms but I didn't see my dad comfortable there. They were nice people but I didn't see them caring for my dad. Some people there were just working but their hearts were not into the job. He had a problem when they placed the catheter in. I saw him decline in health there.

The staff was so respectful, and caring. I want to thank all the nurses who cared for my father and made him so comfortable before he passed away, peacefully in 2011. If you have a loved one who's terminally ill, I recommend highly the Alexander Cohen Hospice House.

This is an amazing facility with the most caring and compassionate staff. It is quiet and peaceful unlike a hospital. It was such a comfort having my husband there before his passing. We were both treated with such compassion and dignity. This community is so fortunate to have this facility available.
