My dad's doctor set hospice up through Sutter. My experience was really good with the hospice people, but it was not as good with the aides that they sent over. We ended up not using any of the aides to come and clean my dad or anything. They didn't relate well to him and it's upsetting. The nurses that they sent were great; we love them. The aides ought to be able to respond to the elderly a little better and not be real forceful with them especially my dad. He was a Chief in the Navy and he flew for World Airways, so it didn't bode well to treat him like a child because his mind was still intact, and that did not go well. They need to be more sensitive and intuitive about how to approach a patient. The nurses were good because they could read what kind of mood he was in. They were very good at taking his blood pressure. They would sit and talk to him and he would just let them and they didn't force it on him. They were really excellent. I have a good experience with them overall.
