I've visited this facility at least three dozen times in the last five years. Each visit was accompanied by a friendly staff that was extremely helpful and friendly in any circumstance. During my visits, the staff was busy tending to its nursing home residents, who needed frequent assistance; but, if they found any extra time, they were more than happy to chat about what was going on at the facility and answer any questions about how my maternal grandmother's condition was (my maternal grandmother had a number of health problems near the end of her life, yet the facility's staff remained positive overall). On occasion, I would have lunch or dinner with my grandmother and the other residents. The meals were cooked-in-house and eating them felt as if I were eating a homemade meal, which is a luxury I'm sure not many nursing homes share with their residents.Also, near holidays, the staff and residents' family members (including myself) helped decorate the large facility with holiday decorations, which also added to the positive, familiar atmosphere that Prairie Maison keeps so well.
