My sister stayed at Markesan Resident Home for rehab. It was excellent. The people there were very caring. They took extremely good care of her. The place was clean. It was very nice, and we can't say enough positive about it. It was wonderful. The rooms were nice. She had a private room with a window, and it was very clean. She had a bathroom she shared with someone else, but there was nobody in the other room. The food was good. They just took such good care of her. It didn't smell bad at all, it smelled really good. Everybody that's worked there has worked there for a long time. So, they don't have a big turnover which is always a good sign. My sister didn't take part in any of the activities, but one thing they had was a hair salon. Then they had music, activities, and art activities. They have a dining room and a courtyard. In terms of cost, it's pretty average. They give you everything other places might say they give you, but the others aren't probably as good at it.

I toured this facility and was pleasantly surprised by the offering. It's incredibly clean, bright and airy. The staff is well skilled and highly interactive with the clients and attentive to their needs. There is even an RN on staff to address clients' health issues that arise. Markesan Resident Home not only offers Assisted Living but also Nursing Home Care. And, recently a new chef was hired so the food offering is flavorful and delicious! I was so impressed by my visit to Markesan Resident Home and am considering it as one of the best options for my mother.

My experience with this facility is that it is a nice place to visit, but I would not want to stay there personally. I would have my family member stay there if it was a short stay, such as for recovering from an injury, but not for a longer term stay. The facilities are nice, and most of the staff are too. They do however, need more staff overall. The atmosphere is very welcoming and they provide a lot of activities for the residents. The outside grounds are nice and taken care of for the residents to enjoy in the summer. They provide activities for residents outside of the home as well, which is nice. The food there can be lacking at times. The options available for food are nice though. The home is not located in a large city. It has plenty of nature surrounding it.
