Preferred Senior Living of Ellsworth

We really liked Preferred Senior Living of Ellsworth. They had a place where both my mom and dad could live together, even though my dad didn't need any assistance, and that was wonderful. There were not very many places that offered that, and that was the best thing about that. The staff was absolutely wonderful. I think I talked to four or five different staff members, and each one of them was very helpful and answered all my questions. It was very comfortable and very homey. It felt like my parents would be very happy there. That was our number one place. We looked at a one-bedroom apartment. It was just one level. They showed us where the seniors eat. They have a refrigerator in the apartment, but they don't have a stove. All the meals are served in a community area. There's a community living room area where they do movies and stuff. They showed us the laundry services. They do laundry for the memory care side, but my dad could have done his own laundry on the assisted living side. They showed us some outdoor spaces and a couple of different apartments. They showed us a studio apartment as well, but we preferred the one-bedroom. They had a beauty salon.
