I visited this facility

We visited Paramount Senior Living at Cabell-Midland Assisted Living. It was clean. The room was like a hospital room, I didn't like it. The grounds were pretty. The person who assisted us was very helpful and nice. The dining area was beautiful. They were playing games.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My cousin moved into Paramount Senior Living at Cabell-Midland, and he is happy there. It's a large place with several buildings. The staff there is friendly. His room is a pretty good size with a private bathroom. They treat me well when I come there, and they answer all my questions.

My mother is in Paramount Senior Living at Cabell Midland. The physical appearance is good. The grounds and buildings are nice. They had a change in staff, from the CEO down to the janitor. They have different churches come in every Sunday, give a service, and sing hymns. During the week, they have private people come in and do different musical things. Their activities director is very interactive with the residents. The activities have gone downhill because of COVID. The residents are mostly in the memory care unit activity room, either watching TV or sleeping in their chairs. There is very little activity. My mom is in a studio, and I really like it. It has space for a bed, a couch, a chair, and a little table. She has a microwave, a small refrigerator, and a nice big bathroom that could even accommodate a roll-in wheelchair. It was very clean. The rates are going up because they have to hire and offer people more money to come work here.

I am/was a resident of this facility

Staff not timely ! Hour to hour and half wait time. Items taken from room staff not helpful and sitting around No shower for 2 months New management is terrible I would not recommend this facility. Constant calling to get someone to the room 2 falls and the response buttons do not work most of the time.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My friend is in Paramount Senior Living at Cabell-Midland. It's very, very nice and laid out nice. However, they're going through some changes with staff, so it's kind of upside-down right now, but I'm sure it's going to pan out here sooner or later. If it was run right, it would be a great place. Right now, there's a bunch of little girls coming in, not wanting to do anything. They should improve on cleanliness and timeliness when someone needs to go to the bathroom. They take 45 minutes to an hour before they come to him. You can put in 15 orders to get something fixed and they don't even listen. They don't care. The food is alright. They do great with the activities. They do bingo, they do singing, and they do exercises. That all is going pretty well. Probably everyone that was working in that department has quit right now, but it will come back up. They'll hire somebody, I'm sure. As far as staff goes, the rating is real low, as far as attentiveness to their residents. When you come in, there are crackers all over the floor. My friend wets his wheelchair and they leave it wet. I have to wipe it off, and that's just because I'm here. They are all about 20 years old and walking around with their hands in their jackets and do nothing. I'm up here on a daily basis except for the weekends. I was just gone that week before this week. Right now, he's getting a shower because, for the last two weeks, they haven't showered him.

My father will be moving into Paramount Senior Living at Cabell-Midland. It's very clean and very spacious. It's a nice facility and they've got caring staff. The dining area was nice and spacious, and there's plenty of room and plenty of seating. The rooms themselves were very nice and there's plenty of room. It had everything that one would need. They had a library and a courtyard where you can go and just sit outside and enjoy the outdoors. They have a nice-sized koi pond. They can feed the fish. The facility was nice and spread out, it's not all jumbled up. It's not all in one building, and it's nice and spacious.

We chose Paramount Senior Living at Cabell-Midland for my cousin because it was very clean. The people seemed very professional and well organized. The facility was very nice. Her room is very adequate, and the activities seem to be well put together. There's socialization among the residents. A big part of her complaints (as far as her life in general) is socialization with people. She's very lonely and that seemed to alleviate that problem.

I visited this facility

I did a limited in-person tour of Paramount Senior Living at Cabell-Midland. I did not like it at all, I thought it was very depressing, smelly, and it was nothing like I wanted. They didn't take me anywhere, I was looking at a separate building which was independent living, they were totally dated, there's no flowers, there's no lawn, it's just very basic, and I did not like the feel when I went up there. The staff was fine, I think she did not give us the full tour, but it's okay. I know it wasn't the place for me.

I toured Paramount Senior Living at Cabell-Midland. It was very nice, clean, they had nice staff, professional admissions, and they bent over backwards to make me knowledgeable. I was happy. They're taking them places, they're doing little memory games and stuff, they're involving them, they have activities days, they have days when the staff dresses up, and they impressed me. The facilities were nice, almost new, clean, and well kept.

We were very pleased with Paramount Senior Living at Cabell-Midland. It was very well-laid out, very clean, and everybody seems to know everybody. The staff who accommodated us was very helpful, she's very well-known by the other residents there which impressed me, too. The staff knew all the people by name and the person who gave the tour knew all of them by name too. I would have liked the room we saw to be a little bigger, but I understand that room is of the essence in a place like that. But other than that it's well set up, very clean, done in a way that would be very convenient and efficient for the residents. The people there were having a social hour in one of their activity rooms at the time we were there and people were participating. The staff was very informative.

We really liked Paramount Senior Living at Cabell-Midland. My aunt also liked it a lot because it's close to her home. We liked the size because she still has a room to walk around in the hallways without getting lost. We liked the size of the apartments. The staff was very nice.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My mother-in-law is at Paramount Senior Living at Cabell-Midland. The staff is very upbeat, friendly, and there to help you with any questions or anything you might need. She says she's happy there. It does not have a nursing home smell, and it's clean. They give you an activities calendar at the beginning of each month. They keep their rooms locked when they're not in there. She has a roommate now. They have a big activity room and it's all glass, so you can see what's going on in there. It's a nice place. The staff is magnificent. She has some family members that agitate her, so we have them on the "do not visit" list, and they seem to be abiding by our instructions. They have singers, churches come in, games, crafts, and if she doesn't feel like participating, they're not forced to do that. She has a refrigerator in her room. It's by far the best place for your money. They have duplexes across the street for independent living, a separate building for assisted living, a separate nursing home facility, and memory care is all in a building by itself. The only people in her building are those with dementia and Alzheimer's. It's up a private road and it's the only place on that road. They eat their meals family style. The staff members eat with them, and it's like eating at home.

I liked the staff of Midland Meadows. They were friendly and willing to work with you. From what I can tell, the place was clean. I didn’t smell any odor there. The dining area was nice, clean, neat, and pleasing. They had different choices for the rooms; you can choose larger rooms or studios. It was about 3 miles from a mall.

Midland Meadows is very modern and the food is excellent. The cleanliness is a plus, and the staff is very good. We don't have any complaints. They have music groups coming in and take the residents out to different places. My father is on oxygen and doesn't go out much, but they have things for him to do, like bingo, exercise, and yoga. I can eat with him anytime I want, and he has choices so if he doesn't like what they're having on the main meal, they’ll offer him something else. He has a nice room where he controls his own heat and air conditioning, has a handicap shower and restroom, small kitchenette with microwave and refrigerator, and his own furniture and own bed.

Midland Meadows is a friendly, cheerful place to visit. You are greeted at the door with a smile and made to feel welcomed there. They have professional staff on hand to meet the residents needs. The residents are cared for with the hightest of expectations. The staff and resident ratio meets or probably beats the state requirement. The residents has their laundry cleaned by staff hired just for laundry. They also have a staff for their meals. They have staff for each area the resident needs. They offer Amap staff, alone with a team of excellent resident aids. The Aids seems to be caring and takes pride in caring for the residents. They also offer activities for the residents. The residents at Midland Meadows are not treated as if they are just there to die. That is the most thing I found interesting on my visit there. All residents are treated with care and respect. All doors are locked at all times to prevent the residents from wondering off. They also have a van so the residents can go to the local library, mall and other places. They are not just locked inside a home.
