"The City of Robert Lee is very involved with the Robert Lee Care Center. The local churches rotate out and have church services there on Sundays. They have singalongs for the residents and physical therapy scheduled every day. Their activity calendar is full. What I'm most pleased with is that my mom is getting excellent care and they're good at communicating with me regarding her care. She's got a couple of folks that she worked with that actually are there or have a loved one there, so she has lots of interaction with them. It used to be a hospital, so it's more institutional looking than some, but they keep it clean and everything's good. There's longevity in the staff. You get to know them and they are from the local community as well, so they also know my mom, which makes a big difference. They just planted a little window garden with vegetables and stuff that's in a planter and a group came by and put out little bird feeders outside their windows for them to be able to watch the birds eat. They come by regularly and fill it up with seeds. They also have a gazebo outside. The community takes care of them."

"Baptist Retirement Community was a very nice facility. They offered semi-private rooms. What I liked about the semi-private rooms is that the area that you're in is separated from your roommate by the bathroom. So, you actually get good privacy versus just a curtain. They do have multiple courtyard areas and multiple group meeting areas. The staff member. who gave me the tour was an amazing person. He was the administrative officer of the day, and he was awesome. They had the option of dining in your room with no additional fees associated."

"We picked Park Plaza because it's a medical nursing home, and it was recommended by a nurse friend of the family. We don't have any problems; my mother likes it. It seems very clean. The staff seems very nice and very helpful. I haven't experienced anything unpleasant while I was there. "

"We're in Rio Concho Manor. It's a high rise, and we're in a one-bedroom apartment. We've been here for almost eight years now. It's very good considering that the apartments that we're in are not as up-to-date as the ones at the other place, but they're nice. We have a nice manager. The staff is great. It's not a bad place to be. The food is good. They have a nice dining area. I do a lot of ministry here (about four services a week). They have activities and things based on the age of the people. They take them on trips and exercises in the rec room downstairs almost every day. It's a very nice place to live. They keep it up very well. It's an older building, and it's been around a long time.
