I'm going to Northlake Apartments. I've visited a couple, and this one suited me the most. I had been through there before. They made a couple of changes that I didn't like. I didn't think it helped. Actually, I think it took it down a little bit. The community room used to be really, really nice. They've got a lake there and they had a fountain. The last time I was there I didn't see the fountain, but they've got a gazebo, which is nice. Some of the two-bedroom apartments, one in particular, was very beautifully landscaped. I don't know if the people moved out. I think they must have moved out because it was not landscaped the last time I was there. Now the community room, they've taken out all the wonderful sofas, chairs, bookcase, coffee tables, and stuff, and they've got little tables in there where four people can sit, like card tables. I like to read, and I was looking forward to going in there and sitting and reading and maybe talking to some people. In that section is where they have the pool table and a couple of folding chairs and a table, which is awful. On the other side, they've got a little open space where they might do exercises or something. They have a couple of long tables where you can sit and eat something, but it's not cozy or friendly anymore like it used to be. The other thing that I think where they made a big mistake, you used to be able to have a pet. You could have a cat or you could have a dog as long as it wasn't over 25 pounds. Now, no pets, and I think that's a mistake. The lawns are nice and well taken care of. The facilities seemed to be OK. They've got laundry rooms. The grounds are really nice. It's in a quiet section. I like it. I just hate those changes that they made. They've got walking paths. It's kind of wooded on all sides. It's quiet and peaceful. They don't have food. They just had a place where you could sit down and eat or something. They don't have dining there. The staff was very nice. I never had a problem. They have activities. I just personally don't like a couple of changes that they made. Each one of them was part of the reason I chose to go there, plus I can afford it.

I was a resident of Northlake Apartments. It is very inexpensive if that's where you want to live, but they have old appliances and it breaks down all the time. The laundry facility is across from the apartment; a lot of times it doesn't work. The apartment is bigger than the one that I'm in now. They have bingo and karaoke once in a while. They don't have too much to offer except bible study. They prepare food every day, but it's lousy; I got sick. It's an old building, and they never cleaned out the duct vents. The whole facility needs to be rebuilt.
