Tieszen Memorial Home is very nice and has very friendly people. It's a wonderful place to stay at and my father-in-law has been there for 6 months. The experience was very nice, and the place itself was clean, modern and sunny. Their staff members were friendly and went above and beyond. He has sort of a studio with a bed, TV, no partition but there are a kitchenette and a bathroom. They have 3 meals a day, big-screen TV, they have a chapel with church services, games, and organized activities for the residents each day. They have puzzles, dominoes, board games, and all kinds of entertainment. They have a library and a beauty shop, my father-in-law just got a haircut there the other day. He complains about the food once in a while.

My mother is a resident of the assisted living facility. They also have a nursing home facility attached and several independent living apartments across the street. The care given to my mother has been nothing but the best and she enjoys living here. Her short-term memory is not very good, but she is able to function pretty much on her own as long as someone provides her with her daily medications and meals. There is entertainment daily, exercise and fitness facilities with staff available to work with the residents, room for family to visit, and transportation to medical appointments. The facility is not close to a hospital which might be a drawback for some potential residents.
