"My friend moved into John Edward Harter Nursing Center. They have 26 beds. It's a nursing facility that is connected with the Allendale County Hospital. They have 24-hour care. They have RNs on each shift and physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy available if it's needed. She has a single room that has a bathroom attached to it, but she does not have any cooking facilities in that room. They provide the meals for her. They have activities staff. They also have medical personnel involved with it. But they have an activities director and have activities every day."

"We're finalizing move-in at the end of this month. I liked what I saw. The food was delicious and we got to sample the food. So far, everybody was welcoming and able to help if I needed anything. They have a little bit of everything. They showed me a few things. They have a library, gameroom, exercise room, and hair salon. The rooms were very nice. It's very spacious."

"I toured Veterans Victory House. I was very impressed with the staff giving me a tour of the facility. It was clean and neat. The staff was friendly, but they didn't have any beds available. They do have some private rooms, but they don't come out very often. They don't have very many of those. Their shared rooms were very nice. I thought the facility was so nice and everything looked nice, and a lot going on for the veterans. They had Sunday schools and church, meetings, Bible studies, activities, and card games. They took the residents out to ball games. They had food choices there. Even some of it for the ones that were able could have a buffet choice. I was impressed with it."

"My grandmother has been a resident of Harper Nursing Home for about four years. So far, this is a greast nursing home and she rarely complains about anything. It's located in Estill,Sc But it's in a nice quiet and peaceful location. The staff is very nice and caring and they go out of their way to make eveyone feel comfortabke, including vistiors. I've visted her on several occasions and it's a very clean and tidy facility. They have lots of activities and things for the elderly to participate in. The food is also good which is always a plus. The rooms are not too big and not too small and the housekeeping really keeps them up. They are free to add there own touch amd decorate it how they want so they can feel more at home. I don't have anything bad or negative to say about the facility because, they stay on top of there game. I'm glad we chose this facility for her because, she loves it. "

"My brother is now at Edisto Post-Acute. They're understaffed. The staff they do have are overworked. One of the biggest fallacies of the nursing home is they do not answer the telephone. It does not matter whether you call the receptionist, the business office, the admissions, the social services, or the wing nurses station, they do not answer the telephone. This is a huge concern for me and/or other loved ones that are calling and trying to check in all of their loved ones that are in the nursing home environment. But I can say that the people that are working are doing a good job. They're overworked, but they're grossly understaffed. My brother has been there for four months now. He is fully ambulatory, but he has a seizure activity, so he is a fall risk. There are very, very few activities. He says the food is really good. If they're fully staffed, I think the value for the money would be good. Since they're not fully staffed, I don't think the value for the money is there. My main concern is answering the telephone. They do not answer the telephone. If they don't have enough people to answer the telephone, it makes you wonder if they have enough people to properly care for the residents that are there."

"My mother moved into Jolley Acres Healthcare Center a week ago. The tour went very well. They showed us around the facility. They had some COVID patients there, but they were down in their own wing and had plastic up to try to keep anybody else from getting COVID. They were taking the proper precautions. If I ever have a question, they are glad to answer it. They do whatever I need. We spoke with another patient there, and she highly recommended the place. So far, so good. The staff members have been helpful. My mom was originally in a private room, but she's been moved to a shared room. They have an activities director. They have on-site therapy. Their food smells so good. My mom gets pureed food, but she eats it. Their pureed food is a little on the thick side sometimes. It's a little expensive, but right now my mom's insurance is covering it."

"My mother is here. The physical therapy team is excellent. That's what I like the most. However, they can do better with the food that they serve. My mother has been in rehab. Overall, they're pretty good staff, but I think they're understaffed at times. And the food in a rehab place is a lot of processed food, which I don't like. For the rehab, there's not many activities. They have a calendar of activities though for the ones that are there permanently. They have a place where they can worship. They have a courtyard. They have a place where they can go out for fresh air and they have a salon. I like the Oaks because they have everything when it comes to care. They have physical therapists, they have doctors that come in, and they have nurses. Even the people that live in independent living have access to the nursing staff."

"The staff was very friendly and informative. The rooms and apartments were lovely and spacious. The dining room looked OK -- not a cafeteria style -- but it was like a college dorm style but more homey like. They had a gentleman come in and play music for them when we went to visit. The place seems secure and safe, they ring the bell to get in, and they have the time in log."
