When we visited Mt. Gilead Independent Senior and Assisted Living, we were shown around by the owner and we asked a lot of questions. There's a bit of a loneliness there because it's just a start-up. One of the things that did not attract her was that there were only about 2 to 3 people sitting around, and my mother is very active so she would have wanted more. The rooms were small and it felt more like an institution. It's an old refurbished building. What gave the institutional look was because they have cinderblock walls. It's very clean though, and they had a salon, they offered to bring in any services that you might need, and they also had transportation if you have to go out. The price is really good there, too.

Within 10 seconds of contacting Caring.com via a google search, Debbie at Caring.com called me to assist me. Debbie within 30 mins connected me to a wonderful woman name "Maria" at Mt. Gilead Independent Senior and Assisted Living in Mt. Gilead, NC. I called Maria immediately and we set up an appointment the next day. Mt. Gilead Independent and Assistant living is very CLEAN, QUIET, PEACEFUL, TRANQUIL AND AFFORDABLE! Rooms can be private or with a roommate. Super nice and accommodating staff. This is a new facility and therefore not overcrowded, which is a blessing. It will be a joy for my mom to be outside sitting or walking during the spring and fall months. The community itself is very peaceful and serene. Ms. Maria was willing to work with us from the onset to met our needs. This is a very nice and serene place for ANYONE who no longer are able to care for themselves. Residents need not feel ashamed or discarded! It offers the best quality of CARE and DIGNITY to ANYONE who are no longer able to care for themselves or be cared for by their loved ones. Everything is taken care of! I thank God for Caring.com and Mt. Gilead Independent Senior Living Assisted Living and highly recommend this very nice establishment.
