I live in Colonial Square Senior Village, and I'm very happy and content here. They have multiple activities that you can participate in or not. You're not locked in to anything and you don't have to do anything you don't want to do. You're free to come and go as you wish. I'm grateful there's a place like this where I could come. They do not serve meals, but they have a potluck every month. Nothing is mandatory. They have card games, a Pinochle group, Scrabble group, once-a-month luncheon, and transportation. Last month, they went to Indian Hills Golf Club for lunch. They have birthday parties for people whose birthdays are in that month. They bring in meals to the individual apartments whoever wanted to buy a meal. The staff is extremely good, but there's not enough staff because there are 107 units and only one maintenance guy. I have a lovely one-bedroom apartment, and I'm going to move up to a two-bedroom to have a little more space. I have a private patio. They do not provide washers and dryers, but they do provide a hook-up and if you want to provide your own, you can have your own in your apartment. It is ADA compliant. The doors are 36 inches wide, and they provide you with bathing facilities to fit your particular needs. I have a walk-in shower and they have provided me with additional stability bars. They have recently put in vending machines.
