Rooms/Facility: This place is old, but with character. It is very clean and well taken care of. The mix of furniture in rooms gave me a more “homey” feeling, where others may scoff at such things. Every room has a view whether it’s the river in the back of the hill side at the front. Food: it’s horrible, but the staff doesn’t sugar coat it. For those who have the blessing of having frequent visitors there are plenty of places in Owego to bring meals though., which is aloud of course. Staff: The staff is GREAT!!! I honestly couldn’t have asked for better. In addition to their caring and accommodating attitudes, they made me feel very comfortable with my father’s stay there. Living in Houston, TX and being a Houston Fire Captain, I’ve seen what care facilities can become what the worst of the worst is. I cannot thank Riverview enough. God Bless.

My husband was at this nursing home for rehab after being in the hospital. Can't say enough good things about the care that he received. He was in a nursing home previously and we did not have a pleasant experience. The staff here made sure to call us with every single detail. The only compliant that he had was it was a little noisy at night time because they are doing remodeling (which looks amazing) and it's done while everyone is asleep. The place is really clean, the nurses are wonderful, and the therapy department worked really hard to get my husband home in the shortest amount of time possible. I would highly suggest this place.

My mother-in-law was here for rehab. We were all really surprised with how clean it is. They are doing remodeling and it looks great. The staff is so helpful and made us feel really safe leaving her there. They updated us with every single thing and always answered our questions. The therapy department was really helpful with making sure she would be safe to go back home. My MIL would call my husband every night and tell us how nice everyone is, and what they did during the day. When we were at the hospital, our biggest concern was where she would be going for rehab, as we have heard bad things about nursing homes. We are happy to recommend this nursing home to anyone that wants to place their family member here and feel safe about it.

My uncle was a patient at this nursing home which was very hard for my family to deal with. River view staff was very nice and made sure that all of our questions were answered. All of the staff was very helpful and king especially nurse Joline calling with updates everyday. My uncle was in a room that was shared with another patient and made a good friend. Thank you for the care you all provided.

My father was a resident for 8 years at this facility. Some of the staff was absolutely wonderful. This really was a pitiful facility. The staff is treated awful. There is just not enough staff. My father stayed in his room most of the time. He would lay in soiled diapers for such a long time that he always had a rash. I don't believe that the staff is at fault. I believe that the management is awful.They do not treat their staff well. Long hours, lousy pay, no respect. Therefore, they do not get the quality staff that other facilities have. The building is located by a river, when the river flooded in 2011, management waited too long to have the staff relocated and the residents had to be carried out by the National Guard. This is just an awful facility. Do not take your loved ones here.
