"I thought that Prairie Village Retirement Center was pretty good. We got lunch there and it was good. That alone put it ahead of the other place we toured. The staff who gave the tour was very nice. The place was well maintained. The person who led the tour showed us everything we wanted to see, and the place was less expensive. One thing to note is that there's no aging in place at Prairie Village. The food we had was hot. We didn't eat in the dining room, so they gave us to-go containers; we took them home and ate. It seems there's more daylight in the rooms and I like that."

"Liberty House is an easy going and a relatively clean facility. It was referred by a doctor. The people there seemed relatively calm and happy. They have individual rooms. The room that my sister is in is like a hotel room and she is comfortable there. It's pretty spacious. So far everything is fine, but I like to see more security. I would like to see that the doors are checked and locked because the type of facility that she was recommended by the psychiatrist to go into. There was just a little too much freedom. I would definitely recommend the place for assisted living, but not if they have severe emotional, psychological, or schizophrenia. "

It seemed like the people there were happy, although the cost was higher. The grounds are well kept, it's close to the hospital, and everything was nice. They had a courtyard and a waterfall with koi fish. It was nice. It's right across the street from the hospital. It scored very high; it's just a little expensive."

"South Haven Living Center's care is excellent and I couldn't ask for better care. My husband was there last year for rehab after major surgery. They're caring, kind, and considerate. It feels like a family facility. They go out of their way to accommodate the residents and their family. He was fortunate enough to have a private room with his own bath. They have a family dining room for that particular section of the facility. They also have a large gathering area. On Thursdays, they have a social hour where they get together and have entertainment and snacks. Mass is offered once a week. There are card games, outings, and they take them to rodeo, the zoo, or a lake. If they need something, they go out of their way to find that for them."
