Residents were not allowed to vote this year. Its not right that the residents have to pay the aides for help with simple this like heating a cup of coffee or warming ???? food or how about getting enough food to eat. Under new directorialship, services were cut to minimual if not below. The place smells horrible like old urine you need a oxygen mask to visit. The residents clothes are stolen or misplaced as well as care packages. Place is inhabitable and not fit for a dyiny dog. The place is only cleaned for state inspection. It is my opinion that a surprise state inspection would probably close the door on this facility.

There are many things about Golden Living that we have been happy about, and some things that have been, what we feel, below acceptable standards. When my mother-in-law first moved in the facility, we were concerned about her adapting to the environment. The staff was indispensible for making her feel at home and getting used to the routine. The nurses, assistants, physical therapists and administration have all been more than helpful for anything we might have needed. The nurses and aides have been instrumental in getting my mother-in-law involved in activities and making sure she goes to the cafeteria to eat when possible instead of staying isolated in her room. One of the few things we have found wrong have been some of her items have been misplaced. There also have been times when her oxygen has been unplugged to where it wasn't accesible. This wasn't life-threatening, but should have been addressed when it was brought to their attention. I have also witnessed other residents who were obviously soiled, being left that way for the duration of my visit. Despite the concerns listed here, the good far outweighs the bad. I feel that the staff of Golden Living make it a quality facility for anyone who is need of that type of assistance.
