I moved to Harbor at Twin Lakes 55+ Apartments. The price was right, and it was in the area that I wanted to live. I haven't lived here that long, but I like that they have a couple of exercise classes. It's also larger than the apartment that I was in before, and I like that I have a little patio. It's only a couple of years old, so it's also nice and new with new appliances and all that. The only thing is that I'm not very tall, and the ceilings are high. I got an apartment on the first floor, and I think it feels a little chilly for my taste. I'm not that cold-blooded, but because there are high ceilings, I think it takes more to heat it. Also, because I'm not very tall, the shower head is really high, but I had my son help me adjust it when I first moved in here. It's nice that there is a stackable washer and dryer, but it's kinda ridiculous how big they are and how tall they are for a senior community. I have to stand on a step stool to reach the dials of the dryer, and I don't like that. I haven't received any utility bills yet, but I was just paying for electricity at my other apartment, and now I have to pay for electricity, heat, and water here, which I think is a lot because it's a lower-income section. Considering it's supposed to be lower-income seniors, I don't like that I have to pay for heat and water. I'm a little concerned about how much it's going to cost, so that is a negative for me. I'm not looking forward to higher utility bills. Other than that, I think the staff has been good, and the layout of the building is fine. It's big, and I wish it were kind of smaller, but because it's big, it probably allows them to have the exercise classes. They do have extra exit doors, which is nice because it's a longer walk to the main entrance for me, where my apartment is located, but there's an exit door very close to where my apartment is, so the layout is fine.
