I had a bi-lateral knee replacement in Sept. of 2012. I knew that I wasn't going to be able to go home after release from the hospital, as I had 3 teens at home and my husband was working lots of over-time. None of the kids drove, and we lived 12 miles from the closest rehab facility. After checking with different nursing home facilities and checking into their rehab programs (2 times daily on weekdays, 1 time a day on weekends), I decided to go with Dassel Lakeside. After finally being admitted there I was even more thankful of my choice. The staff is kind and caring; and believe me after that kind of surgery you can't do ANYTHING. They literally have to do everything you could normally do for yourself, yet they allow you to keep your dignity through all that humiliation. They encourage, praise, laugh with you, are there when you need a shoulder to cry on, oh yes, did I mention the food is as good if not better than many restaurants I've been to. I had specially prepared meals too because I don't eat meat. When It was time for me to go home, I told them to keep a room open for me and my friend in 30+ years. I was told "No problem"! If you're looking for a great home, this would be the place!

Rooms are small and shared, billed out at full private price of course, level of care took a steep downturn, over 8 minutes to answer a call light is a bit excessive. Was good, then poor, very poor actually.
