August Haus is a licensed 20-bed assisted living located in Gaylord, Michigan. The facility is surrounded by woods providing a nice backdrop to a new facility (2018). We provide a full array of services to all of our residents, and offer a unique combination of room choices to fit their specific needs. Couples are welcome, along with amputees, and those with mild forms of dementia. We provide three home-cooked meals each day, and do not charge extra for more advanced levels of care. Staff is on-site 24/7 to ensure all residents are properly cared for. We offer medication management, bathing assistance, help with personal hygiene, as well as personal grooming services. Here at August Haus, we are able to cater our services to those with Dementia or Alzheimers. Although we are not a secured memory care, we are equipped to care for those with mild forms of dementia, and may be able to provide a less Institutionalized atmosphere. "The building was very clean and the staff was very friendly. They were able to help everyone quickly and efficiently. The rooms were large and very clean, the cleaning lady was very nice. I would recommend this facility to anyone who is looking for a skilled nursing home for their loved ones. "

"Sunshine Gardens is a reasonably priced care home for the elderly and mentally disabled. All meals are cooked for the residents, as well as laundry, cleaning, and bathing services. Some rooms in SGII come with their own private bathrooms. The employees are friendly, and look to the residents as family, rather than employer. Employees work with families to create the best living conditions for their loved ones. Medication is also kept and distributed for the residents. All employees go through extensive training before working alone in the homes. Overall, these homes are a great option for your loved ones. "

"After having his amputation surgery my grandpa was transferred here to finish his recovery and rehabilitation. The staff here was wonderful and easy to work with while setting up the insurance information and registration. They made it very easy to feel comfortable coming to visit, we even brought one of our pets to visit him and all of the residents enjoyed seeing him. Grandpa was always clean and well cared for during his stay here, and when it was time to come home he was sad to leave his friends there. He always raved about the food and how well everything was made for him. Although he has passed away now, I'm sure if we had another relative in need of constant nursing care we would feel good about them residing there. "

"Tendercare is a small nursing home that caters to the resident. Rooms are available with two residents. It is a home like setting. The staff go to great pains to insure that each resident does all that they are able to do for themselves. They are always there to help if needed. They have a wonderful recreation program designed to involve any resident that has the ability or desire. They offer bingo games, Group TV watching, Cards etc. There are ample opportunities to socialize if it is desired. When the patient gets to the point where they no longer wish to do so they are made comfortable in their room. Overall a care home is a hard place to put a loved one but I think that when you find a place like tendercare you can feel a measure of peace with the decision. "
