August Haus is a licensed 20-bed assisted living located in Gaylord, Michigan. The facility is surrounded by woods providing a nice backdrop to a new facility (2018). Assisted living, dignified and respected. Thats our goal here at August Haus. To provide quality care and a safe, healthy environment for seniors. We provide a full array of services to all of our residents, and offer a unique combination of room choices to fit their specific needs. Couples are welcome, along with amputees, and those with mild forms of dementia. We provide three home-cooked meals each day, and do not charge extra for more advanced levels of care. Staff is on-site 24/7 to ensure all residents are properly cared for. We offer medication management, bathing assistance, help with personal hygiene, as well as personal grooming services. Here at August Haus, we are able to cater our services to those with Dementia or Alzheimers. Although we are not a secured memory care, we are equipped to care for those with mild forms of dementia, and may be able to provide a less Institutionalized atmosphere. "I visited Tendercare Gaylord for four days. I feel very assured my father is getting proper care for his stroke. The staff cares about the patients and want to do the very best for them. They feed the patients too much and too good. My dad's roommate has been there for a month and agrees the food is good and overall he is satisifed with his care too. HIs roommate is there for hip rehab. "

"My wife has moved into The Brook of Gaylord. We haven't been here very long, but so far, the workers are tremendous, very polite, very nice, and very helpful. They're much better than where she has been before. I asked for two things which were my requests: I wanted a safe place, and I wanted a caring place, and we have both of them here, and that's all I cared the most about. They try to make it as safe as they can, and every one of them is as caring as can be, all the people that are working for my wife. Besides that, it's a newer facility, so it's kept up very well. There are a lot of activities. We haven't participated in many of them because my wife is still trying to walk, and having a hard time with it, but they come to her, so they're very good. It just seems like everybody here cares about the people. Whatever they're doing for them, they care about them, that they're happy. They know that when I'm here that I'm watching my wife because they're letting me stay here, which I thought was funny. I stay with my wife overnight. If I use part of their services for me, then I have to pay for them. But if I don't use anything, I don't pay anything. My wife and I eat dinner together, so I pay for dinner for me, and she's on a dinner plan. That's a big thing, to be able to stay. I think it makes the health of the person you're caring for a lot better when you can stay right there. I'm here, and I see everything. I see the nurses, I see the helpers, and I see everybody in what they try to do for people. It's not like you come and visit for a couple hours and go home. I'm here 24 hours a day. "

"The property we went to was for seniors, an apartment complex. The facilities had a community room, with full kitchen and bathroom. This would be perfect since my grandmother likes to play bingo and cards with her friends. The apartment was a little small, but she is down sizing from a three bedroom house, so this was expected. We met with the Maintenance Tech and the community manager, both of whom live on site. So if there are ever any problems they can be taken care of very quickly. The grounds looked very nice and well kept. There is even a community Garden. My grandmother taught me how to can and preserve so I will be helping her in the garden for sure. Out of the other two communities we saw, this was by far the favorite. We've heard a lot of rumors about the people living there, but she will have to figure that out as she goes along. This is the place she liked the best. "
