"We chose Northern Pines Assisted Living for my sister because there are fewer people in there, and they can take more interest in each person. They showed me what room she was going to be in. They seem to care more about the patients; they keep them occupied, and have people come in and help. It was very nice and very clean. Christina gave the tour, and she was really nice and considerate. They're responsible. You don't have to bring in your bed and chairs. They already got the room ready for my sister."

"My wife was at Crawford Continuing Care Center for a couple of months. They did a pretty good job of taking care of her. The only problem I had was that they decided that she was not getting any better. Their care plan was to make her comfortable and that seemed like that's all they were doing for a while. The staff, 95% were caring individuals and did a fine job. The food was OK. Some of what she wouldn't eat, I tried, and it was OK. They assigned her to long-term care. There were two people in a room. They did their best to keep it clean. It was kind of cramped, but it was better than the one I got her out of in Alabama. They had a variety of activities. They had some things that they would do to get people together. They had bingo a couple of days a week."

"Brook of Roscommon is homey. Mom is living there and is relatively happy. She says the staff is very caring. Mom's room is nice and of adequate size. Mom's biggest complaint is the food because the portions are small, and they don't serve enough fresh fruits and fresh vegetables. The dining area is nice and the wait staff are very attentive. The location is a little further than I would like, but it's the closest I could find. "

"Last year, for about three months I went and visited the Hilltop patients to see what would better their time staying there. I talked to them, brought them gifts, and spent quality time with the ones who seemed to need it the most. Everytime I was there, the staff was friendly. Always saying, "Hello" when I walked in. They staff was always available to the patients, whenever they were needed, or wanted. There were games set up for the patients to play, and for them to spend time with each other. The patients could win prizes, and you could tell be the smiles on their faces that they were having fun. No matter where you go, you always come across the grumpy old people. You know the ones I am talking about. They are rude, and don't like to talk to anybody. Well, at Hilltop, those people are far and few from what the people here at Hilltop are like. When they do get an old grumpy one staying there, the staff does as much as they can to keep them involved. Overall, I think that Hilltop is a WONDERFUL assisted living facility. The staff is great, the people are sweet, and it's a nice place to stay! "

"My parents were both placed at WA a couple years ago. My dad just passed two months ago. I cannot say enough positive about Woodland Acres. The staff is amazing. The facility is spotless. The meals are all home-cooked. The staff LOVES the residents and treats them with dignity and respect. They celebrate birthdays and all holidays, have church every week, have movie nights and game nights. My parents love (loved) being there and whenever I visit or call, they always tell me how wonderful the place is. The rooms are spacious and clean. The residents have daily exercise routines, help with the setting of tables and dinner prep (if able and desire to), have music times, outside visiting by various groups etc. And when the time came that my dad failed and passed, their care for him was beautiful. Some of the staff even came in on their day off to tell him (in tears) that they loved him and gave him a kiss goodbye. The staff brought several of the residents to the funeral. This place is a family. "

"It is close to my aunt's home, it is a familiar area for her, and that is why we chose to look at this place. It has assisted living, but it does not have the memory care which she will need later on, so we would have to think about moving her to the Brook. They have visiting areas, they have one-bedroom apartments, not just studios, and the patients can go anywhere they want to within the building. A lot of the women would get together and do things like puzzles, art, and other different things. They do have activities for them like Bingo and one or two different things that they showed us. They have dining style for dinner, lunch, and breakfast where it was almost like a restaurant type atmosphere. My aunt used to like to go out everyday to eat, so I thought that would be very nice for her to be able to do that. She would think she was at a restaurant because they place their order, just like they would in a restaurant. The nursing careis kept very clean. You didn't have any of the odors there. It was very clean, and the staff was very friendly and very helpful. They made you feel welcome, and they have 24-hour visits if you want to go in 24 hours. They would also let a person come from out-of-town and stay with their loved one for the night. "
