The Best Memory Care Communities in Hillsdale County, MI

"The people at John Ganton's Countryside have been really nice. They're very helpful and they're taking good care of my aunt. They're always there when we have questions, and they help us. They are great. She has a studio apartment and it's got a large bathroom (bigger than her bathroom at home). It seems nice to me. We put a twin bed in there for her. It's got air conditioning through the wall, which is really nice, and I think it can also do heating. It's got a little kitchen area. There's no stove or anything, but there's a sink and a nice closet (it's not a huge closet, but she doesn't have very much stuff so that works out well). There's a nice window that looks out onto the green area (not a fancy green area or anything like that, but it's something green). She gets television and cable included, which is nice, as she likes to watch the news and everything else. They said we could put holes in the wall, and so we put up all of her pictures. It's just one room, but it's a nice-sized room, and it's plenty for what my aunt needs and I'm thrilled they got her in on the first floor. The facility seems well made and nicely laid out. The food is good. They have church services, I've seen them getting their hair done, which she was kind of actually excited about and I hope it worked out to get her hair done this week. They have puzzles everywhere, they have games sometimes with some of the residents, and they do outings with them. There's a place called Thome Pace, and I know that that sends a bus there, and I've seen it several times where they will take some of the residents out. It's a senior assisted thing so that seniors can get out and do things. So, that's something they have access to."

"The rooms are nice. Kinda close but still nice. They keep the rooms very clean. The staff is nothing short of amazing. When my mom was there the staff really made me (the visitor) feel like family. I would recommend this facility to anyone."

"I live near Maplewood of Marshall so I've visited it. It's assisted living but they have people that are there permanently and can drive, get out and walk around in those sorts of things. I like the cleanliness and orderliness of the place. The staff is very professional and gave me as much time as I needed to ask questions and look around. The place is very clean. They're decorated well and generally well taken care of. It's just north of town, it's near a condo complex and it's quite nice on the outside."

"I went to Grand Vista Of Marshall. They have an excellent staff and excellent nursing care. They have the standard amenities, they have activities, when they were able to they were bringing in different musicians, they have a movie night, and game day. They have activities every single day, exercise classes, they do breakfast, lunch, and dinner, laundry, and all of that. The staff is excellent, very attentive, and communicative with the family members. The place is very well kept, and each resident has their own individual rooms. It feels like a big home."

"What I liked about Spring Arbor Assisted Living was it was all on one floor, and they have an outside court area where people are allowed to go outside when they want to. They have a nice outdoor area, a nice deck, and a room with puzzles and games. They would do bingo, they would have people come in and do arts and music or do their hair if they wanted to. I liked the way it was laid out. It was decorated well, and I thought the staff was very nice. They have good sized rooms. My mom was in a room that had a separate bedroom from the living room and a small kitchen. They have a couple of double rooms, too. It was set up quite easily for the residents to remember where they were and how to get to different places. They had a beautiful dining room and a nice library. When you first walked in, there's a big area where people could sit and watch TV if they wanted. I thought it was very nice. It was a good value for the money."
