My brother is in Harbor Point at Centerville. It is very nice. They're very good with the residents and they take care of them. It's a very homey atmosphere. They're very clean. The rooms were very adequate. They're very private. There's always staff around and available. They have a garden where their residents can walk. The staff is very caring. I haven't tried the food, but I assume that they're good. My brother has gained weight. They have activities planned virtually several times a day every day, singing and other community activities like that. The staff are all very good with the residents, very kind, and very available. It's always very clean. It's pretty expensive.

About Harbor Point at Centerville in Centerville, Massachusetts
Harbor Point at Centerville is the first residential assisted living community on Cape Cod, MA that is exclusively dedicated to serving the needs of individuals with memory loss. Offering Alzheimer's care for those in need, our goal, in everything we do, is to create an assisted living environment that feels safe and familiar, empowering and fulfilling.
All forms of memory loss -- from forgetfulness to Alzheimer's and other forms of dementia -- are disorders of the memory, not the spirit. In fact, care of the spirit increasingly becomes the one way we can reach and communicate with those who have memory loss. Located in Centerville, Massachusetts, Harbor Point at Centerville connects with both residents and their caregivers. It's what we do best.

I went to Harbor Point at Centerville yesterday. It's only the third community that I have toured, and honestly, it was very consistent with the others. But I saw a lot more on this particular tour, and I did get to see some of the people living there who are Alzheimer's patients as well as dementia. They looked like they were in a good place, and that means a lot. I think they understand what I'm dealing with, and they have the resources to give my wife the proper care should I decide to go there. The staff was very knowledgeable. She wanted to hear first what my story was. I think it's an effort to see how my wife will fit there, and she was very informative on the tour. It was a very productive experience. The rooms in this particular property were among the nicest I've seen. What was available was done very well, in particular, the bathrooms I can tell the bathrooms were designed the way they were because some people are going to be in a wheelchair or walker, and they need more space to move around. So the bathrooms were a little larger than they probably need to be. It looked very well maintained, very clean. I have no issues there. We talked about food, they didn't have menus for the residents, they showed plated food. For example, one option is fish, and another option is chicken. They will show them a plated dish of each one of those to help them decide. That's a better option than menus because everything has to be visual for them and some of them, because of their condition, have difficulty reading.

After touring other memory care facilities in the area, we chose Harbor Point for our family member for the following reasons: the facilities are older, its not the fanciest of the long term care home options available, but Harbor Point is 5 star in its client centered care ethos. Residents are encouraged to be active as they can within the community. The staff are very engaging with all residents. Many of the staff are long term employees and have had their own relatives at Harbor Point. The care, compassion, gentle persuasion techniques and high standards of cleanliness is evident. There is a positive atmosphere at Harbor Point. Our family member is living a better happier safer life there than at home.

My friend was in Harbor Point at Centerville before she died. It's an excellent facility. We were very pleased with the staff, and they could not have been kinder or more accommodating. Her room was comfortable, well appointed, they permitted us to bring a number of her personal things, and it was conveniently located.

Harbor Point at Centerville was very nice, well kept up, and very clean. They will be able to provide the extra assistance that my wife needs if she is too big a fall risk for the other place. Their rooms were a little larger and the bathrooms were a little smaller, but you have the room to yourself. They have the most jam-packed activities calendar. They have activities in the morning, afternoon, and into the evening. They get a lovely dining area and a lovely living room. It's a first class facility.

Our experience at Harbor Point at Centerville is very good. The only thing is that the parking is terrible. There's not enough space, so I have to park at the corner of the facility and I can't imagine doing that in a snowstorm. Otherwise, the community is very nice. You just have to provide your own furniture. There isn't anything else negative about the community. They provide the meals and I think also snacks. The person who gave me a tour was very nice, informative, and friendly. The staff members including the nurse I met were also all very nice.

We went to visit Harbor Point. It was just for dementia patients. The staff was very nice and lovely. They were very helpful. They gave information, and they were very good. The rooms were nice. I liked that they were very friendly. They seemed to be very attentive to the patients. That was good, but it was not for my parents at this time.

Harbor Point got my mother returning to the best status that she could possibly be: mobile; she was not mobile before. My mom got a single room; it is very spacious, and they keep it very clean. All of the staff knows my mom and I by name. They always greet me at the door. They are fantastic! I don’t have any other ways to explain them; I have found the gold mine. The dining setup was great -- always linen table cloths and fresh flowers. They bring all the residents out to the dining room. They go to the table, and the food looks good to me and is a good quality. I know they have music and outdoor activities to keep them quite busy and entertained. I have no complaints; however they need to have more space to take in more patients.

I thought Harbor Point at Centerville is an extremely well run facility. It was nice. It was smaller, and I thought it was very comfortable. I like the layout of the building. The help there seemed to be very professional as well. I think the woman who runs the place is very good and very professional. I found the facility to be clean, which is very important. They have a very interesting set-up since the building was designed in a circle. There were various dining areas and activity areas around the building that would be closest to their rooms. They have different activities in each area, so the patient could choose what he wanted to do that day.

Harbor Point has kind, knowledgeable staff who treat residents and families with great care and not as a job. They are responsive to family concerns.
