My mother is in the memory care unit. Her care is exceptionally good. The staff is friendly and extremely knowledgeable. They contact us if they have any questions or need to share concerns. They seem to love their jobs and the elders. Someone mentioned there’s a lot of turnover but if you consider that some of staff are from a nearby college town and some others are military spouses that can be the reason. Some staff have family living there. They follow that adage to treat all elders as if they were a family member. As far as being a distance from a town of size, who cares, rural folks need care facilities too.

We had visited Leonardville Nursing Home earlier for my father-in-law, but we did not move him there. We liked it when we looked at it before, so we went there again and visited. Parts of it are older, but it's well maintained. They appeared to have a lot of activities and a lot of social interaction, which is important for my mother-in-law. One helpful thing was that they have a dementia wing that is closed off. They tell us that the people that have dementia stay amongst themselves and they eat together. The people who are more lucid obviously can visit and play games with other people, play cards and all that. The staff was very good.

The facility is very clean my mom was very well taken care of. Valerie made sure my mom's needs were meet. The staff on the memory care unit were always very good at getting my questions answered. I always look forward to mom's care plans they were very professional.

Facility staff is extremely helpful and my family was not only loved but well cared for.

The facilities are quite nice however the staff did not appear quite competent. Several of my grandmothers friends have been given incorrect doses of medications throughout the years she has been at this facility. They seam to have a high turnover. All the good nurses leave.Something else to keep in my is the fact that Leonardville is so far from a decent sized town. It is 30 Miles from Manhattan. For some this really won't matter for others however it will.I can not recommend this place because of how incompetent the staff appears.
