I don't like Bethel Estates of Gardner because it's over $1,000 a month, which I cannot afford. It's a nonsmoking community, but there is a woman who smokes behind me. Her unit is attached to mine, and that smoke is horrendous. It comes in through the bathroom of the kitchen. My eyes water, my nose runs, and I feel like my throat is full of mucus all the time. I've asked them about it, said, "This is a nonsmoking community. Please do something about this," and they won't. It's just horrendous. They don't clean your sidewalks, so you have to do that yourself. They don't take care of things very good. They also said, "Do whatever you're going to do, but if you leave before your contract is up, you're going to have to pay us an extra month's rent." I don't get that because it's not my fault that they've got some people here that smoke. They have a community building, and I think you can use it when they're there. Some of their things in the house are good, but there's no microwave or anything here. The one that helps the manager is really nice. When I moved in we worked through the contract and everything. It was on a Friday, and the manager said, "Now, you need to go up and put the deposit on the lights and get the lights over into your name." However, the light company was closed that day at 3:00. The manager charged me $14 for having the lights in my name until Monday when I wasn't even staying there. If you want a person to live here, why do things like that? It wasn't clean when I moved in. There were four girls that cleaned for them, and when my friend opened the drawers and the cabinets they were awfully dirty. She told them, "Look at this. This really needs to be cleaned." However, they just kind of looked at it and went on. We had to clean them up ourselves.
