"We toured Connect55+ Indianola. They were really nice and friendly. My friend went with me, and she thought there needed to be some improvements, like the porches and stuff. She thought it was a lot of money for a small amount of space. My concern was the storage space because they had a stackable washer and dryer, but nowhere to place it, like in the other facility, where they had a laundry room in the apartment. But here, they didn't have a place to fold, it was like in a little closet. They didn't have a lot of storage space in the bathroom for towels and all of that. So that's the thing I didn't like about it, and a lot of the people were older than me, so I was looking for my age group. They had activities, and they were really good on that. The gal that lived there ended up doing a tour with us. She gave her side of everything. So, the tour was good because of her. She took us around and knew everything. They have picnics, barbecue, wine, and cheese. They had music, and they served some snacks. They had a kitchen down in the commons room, so that was from the activities. They had coffee that you could get every day. However, in a lot of the porches, the cement was cracking, and it's not that old of a building."

"The staff when we visited Murphy's Place was nice, friendly, and accommodating. The rooms were fine. The dining room was clean and nice. Overall, it seemed a nice facility and it's very bright. "

"I like that Pleasant Care Living Center is in a small community and it has a small town feel to it. The staff there seemed very, very friendly and very upfront with information. It smelled a little bit, but a lot of them do. They have memory care there, too. My husband felt like the private room was too small, but I told him that all private rooms are small. You're not going to find anything bigger. They didn't have a separate shower for the private room. You have to go down the hallway for a shower. But it is an old building, so it wouldn't have accommodated that."

"My dad has been in Windsor Manor since June 1st. They are very friendly and accommodating, and they made us feel very welcome right away. It was a smaller facility. He’s got a medium sized, one-bedroom; it’s very clean, it smells nice, and it has fresh carpeting and fresh paint. They have nice wood work, a small oven, and a small refrigerator. The room has a big window in the bedroom and living area. There’s a nice sink and counter top. We have enough room for his belongings, and he feels like he’s a little bit at home. There’s lots of storage. They played Bingo, and there’s a crafts room. In summer they have a barbeque every other week. They have people from the community that come in and play some music. They assign seats to people in the dining area based on how they get along with other residents. "

"My mother-in-law was in Good Samaritan Society - Indianola for rehab. It was very pleasant, it was a good experience. It was very clean, they were very organized. They even came to the house afterward, and still give her some extra care, the nurses and the therapist. So that was good. She likes the food, but she doesn't eat much. They made her macaroni and cheese or mashed potatoes, which she wanted, along with some other things they tried to get her to eat. The rooms were very nice and very easy to find. The staff was wonderful."
