"Nouveau Marc was a beautiful place. It's a great independent living center. It's not one that I would consider for my dad because I think he is not totally independent. The facility was nice. There's a lot of features. The rooms were nice and big. I like the activities that they plan every day, and their scheduled menus. Some of the rooms have a little balcony where you can roll out. It's a nice, quiet place. I like it. The facility was really big and open. It's an open floor. There's nothing on the floor that would prevent a wheelchair from rolling in and rolling out. I like the openness of it. I only met the tour guide, and she was very nice."

"Ville Ste. Marie Senior Living Community was right by my house. I could walk to it. I wanted to get my father in there, but there were two things that stopped me from wanting to. They didn't have an opening at the time, and the other is that they didn't have a nursing facility. They have a health administrator, but they didn't have a nurse there. The staff showed the three different styles of room. Actually, I found my aunt there that we have been looking for. She moved in there, and nobody knew where she was. We thought she was still across the lake, and she was in there. When they showed me the first room, it was my aunt's room. It's a very nice facility, except for the two drawbacks. Plus, they only serve two meals a day. My father is not capable of cooking for himself anymore. My aunt's room was very nice. All the rooms were very nice. The one thing that they had that all the rest of them didn't have is a working kitchen. The rest of them have a microwave, a sink, and a little refrigerator. They have a stove, so they could cook. I tried the food, and it's very good. I had breakfast at the time. What I had tasted was very good. They had a variety of stuff for breakfast. Almost any breakfast food you can name, they had. The community was very nice. I didn't see anything broken around. They had maintenance people working. The cleanup crew was constantly cleaning the halls and everything while we were. They have a variety of stuff to do. They have a singalong. They have movie night, where they play all the movies that are in the generation of people there. They have music night. If you play an instrument or something, you can do that. They have crafts, and they have an exercise area. They have a little library for the people who can see good enough to read. In talking to my aunt, the staff are very friendly and very helpful. She also enjoys the food. It's like a little community. Everybody pretty much gets to know each other and talk. They have a space for them to gather. It's nice. If they did have an opening, I would probably put my dad there (even though they didn't have a nurse). The facility is well kept. They have a little courtyard area that is kept really nice. There are areas where if somebody wants to plant something, they can do that. They can grow little gardens. I didn't stay for the activities, but my aunt says they're great. She loved it. However, they're a little high on the price."

"Everything at Summerfield Senior Living of Hammond was nice. The staff was friendly and they were informative about everything. It was a place that we considered. Their rooms were nice, spacious, and it was really good for all the things that it had. They were private rooms. The dining area was nice, it was clean, everything there was warm and inviting, and was assured of the patients care and safety as well. Everything was well-maintained."

"Francois Bend Senior Living is new, so it's very nice. My cousin who's staying there said the food is good. They have a place where they can dine in together and listen to music on certain days. The staff seems very good. They have a hairdresser and a chapel. It's a very fine place. It's reasonable for what you get. The activities are pretty good. The rooms seem very clean."

"Inspired Living at Kenner is top of the line; it's very, very nice. The layout was nice, the appearance was beautiful, it was very good. We saw a 1-bedroom, it was really nice and safe. The person who assisted us during the tour was very nice. The first thing she asked was if we're hungry, and that was sweet. I had questions and she explained it all very well, showed us the place, showed us the grounds and the rooms. The place was lovely. The only activity I saw that time was people finishing up dinner. Everybody was heading to their respective rooms. The dining area and food were excellent. They have a gym, swimming pool, a salon, they have a lot of amenities like a gaming room, poker room, and a bar. There's plenty to go on. Our food was a salad and sloppy joes, and; it was great."
