"I love Inspired Living at Kenner, it's wonderful. I like their cleanliness. You can get 2-bedroom or 1-bedroom. The whole set-up is really nice. It's a brand new place, so everything is very nice. The people are so lovely. All day long, they have meals for the residents, they have a lovely menu that is set out so you know your options. You just sit down, they come out, and they serve you. There is no set time. I looked at what they had and their food looked delicious. They also have transportation. There's a limousine as well as a bus. The staff member who assisted us was absolutely friendly; she was a doll. I also met the fellow who was in charge and he was wonderful too. The only thing I didn't like is, I wanted covered parking because I have 2 cars, but they don't have that."

"I like Nouveau Marc by Barclay House a lot. The place is beautiful. It's worth every penny, and the people that work here are amazing. They have one-bedroom and two-bedrooms that I couldn't afford, so I just went with a studio apartment. It includes three meals a day, snacks, and a lot of activities. They are here to keep the older people very busy. I can see why they are very active because there's a reason for them to be active. They make sure that you're happy and comfortable. It's incredible. I'm proud to be older now because of the respect in my surroundings of where I'm at. The thing I like most is the atmosphere and the vibe you get from the employees and the other tenants who live here. I was extremely depressed, and I came here, and this was the happiest place I could be at. There are a lot of fun activities. We do horse racing and it's like you have a playground. We do bingo, there's bible class and exercise class, they take you out on trips, and they get you to your appointments on time. I'm staying active compared to where I was for the last two years. The staff doesn't look at you as a normal person, they're here to be friends. Even the workers, if they see you struggling with stuff, they will offer you their help. It's like I'm in a number one hotel and I'm getting the top service because I'm paying their top dollars. I will not move from here until I have to move to a nursing home. It's a little tight financially, but it's worth it. They have places here where they're two- or three-bedrooms, in that way if a family wants to move in together now, they have their own room. It is just awesome how they think of the whole problem."

"Ville Ste. Marie Senior Living Community was right by my house. I could walk to it. I wanted to get my father in there, but there were two things that stopped me from wanting to. They didn't have an opening at the time, and the other is that they didn't have a nursing facility. They have a health administrator, but they didn't have a nurse there. The staff showed the three different styles of room. Actually, I found my aunt there that we have been looking for. She moved in there, and nobody knew where she was. We thought she was still across the lake, and she was in there. When they showed me the first room, it was my aunt's room. It's a very nice facility, except for the two drawbacks. Plus, they only serve two meals a day. My father is not capable of cooking for himself anymore. My aunt's room was very nice. All the rooms were very nice. The one thing that they had that all the rest of them didn't have is a working kitchen. The rest of them have a microwave, a sink, and a little refrigerator. They have a stove, so they could cook. I tried the food, and it's very good. I had breakfast at the time. What I had tasted was very good. They had a variety of stuff for breakfast. Almost any breakfast food you can name, they had. The community was very nice. I didn't see anything broken around. They had maintenance people working. The cleanup crew was constantly cleaning the halls and everything while we were. They have a variety of stuff to do. They have a singalong. They have movie night, where they play all the movies that are in the generation of people there. They have music night. If you play an instrument or something, you can do that. They have crafts, and they have an exercise area. They have a little library for the people who can see good enough to read. In talking to my aunt, the staff are very friendly and very helpful. She also enjoys the food. It's like a little community. Everybody pretty much gets to know each other and talk. They have a space for them to gather. It's nice. If they did have an opening, I would probably put my dad there (even though they didn't have a nurse). The facility is well kept. They have a little courtyard area that is kept really nice. There are areas where if somebody wants to plant something, they can do that. They can grow little gardens. I didn't stay for the activities, but my aunt says they're great. She loved it. However, they're a little high on the price."

"Everything at Summerfield Senior Living of Hammond was nice. The staff was friendly and they were informative about everything. It was a place that we considered. Their rooms were nice, spacious, and it was really good for all the things that it had. They were private rooms. The dining area was nice, it was clean, everything there was warm and inviting, and was assured of the patients care and safety as well. Everything was well-maintained."

"Francois Bend Senior Living is new, so it's very nice. My cousin who's staying there said the food is good. They have a place where they can dine in together and listen to music on certain days. The staff seems very good. They have a hairdresser and a chapel. It's a very fine place. It's reasonable for what you get. The activities are pretty good. The rooms seem very clean."
