My mother has been in Villas of Holly Brook and Reflections Danville for five weeks now. She's in the memory care portion of the facility, which is called Reflections. All of the staff have been super helpful, kind, and patient. It's a really nice facility. All of the meals seem to be really good, quality food. It's all made right there. She enjoys the different activities they do throughout the day, from playing trivia to bingo to craft making. They even have certain times where they'll have a movie day in the small theater. My mother's been in much better spirits since she's been there. In the five weeks she's been there, she's not mentioned wanting to go home one time. For the quality of care and the niceness of the facility, I consider the cost very reasonable, comparatively speaking, to the other facilities in our area. She has a single room with just a bedroom. We have room for a couple of chairs, and then she has her own personal bathroom with a walk-in shower. They have a shared room that is a little larger. They have an activities room that they also use for crafts and group games like Jeopardy and things like that. They also offer physical therapy. They have a small gym for physical therapy. The layout of the Reflections memory care portion is pretty neat where it's kind of a loop of rooms around the perimeter and there's a big open common area that almost makes it feel as if you're staying at a lodge or a nice hotel with several sitting areas and a small kitchenette area where they will actually bake cookies or something like that as a group. There are several little sitting areas with TVs. They also have something that I had never heard of, which is actually good for patients of certain types, that is, a sensory room. Basically, it has lots of different colored lights and signs on the wall, and it's kind of a neat little room. There's also a small hair salon where they can get their hair cut and done. It's a separate wing where you basically push a button on the door to go in as a visitor with no problem, but then you have to have a staff member let you out. I've not personally eaten the food, but I've been there with several meals with my mother, and it all looks very appetizing.
