"Visited new independent villages. Beautiful! Good use of space and well-appointed. Would have loved attached garage for more storage, but lots of storage space inside the unit. My contacts with staff have been very positive. I’m full of questions, and they have graciously answered all or found the answer. So few independent senior living options in the area. This is a wonderful and much needed addition! I will be moving in as soon as a unit is completed!"

"My parents are in here and everything is great. They like this place better than they did the last one. They like the food. My father likes everything. They have a big Halloween party and they have some children come around and go trick-or-treating. It's a wonderful atmosphere. They have a podiatrist come in and trim everyone's toenails. The staff is great, friendly, knowledgeable, and always willing to help. They're on the lakeside and they have a patio and dad enjoys going out and sitting out there. They have plenty of closet space. They have a two-bedroom with a bathroom and a living room with a little kitchen and a refrigerator. It's exactly what they needed because they're 92 and 94. They check on them all the time. Somebody's always in the hall and always around. They always have activities going on when I go in. They have a facility there for my mom's hair and they have a barber shop. They are very much enjoying it. It's all one floor, it's nice, and they keep it clean. It's just a good place for them to be."

"They were very friendly. I was impressed because they gave personal testimonies to the patients. It helped me understand that they knew their patients. They were not trying to tell me how great they were and all the great things that they did. It was more about the accomplishments of the patients and that just seemed to be more personal to me. The atmosphere was very good. They offered trips to go eat ice cream and things like that. They were having bingo on the day that we visited. They had little crafts things that they did. They had a screened-in back porch that I liked because my mom enjoys watching the birds and things like that, so that was the thing that I was impressed with. Everything was clean and safe. They're locked in, and you have to have a key code to get out, so my mom couldn't wander."

"My mother moved into Quiet Oaks Health Care Center. I'm very pleased with it. I'm pleased with the staff. They are very helpful and very kind. The facility is very clean. My mom's room is fine. It is satisfactory. They have a doctor, nurses, a beauty shop, and a courtyard. The food is very good. It was expensive, but I have no complaints. I think they're doing the very best that they can do. I'm very impressed."

"My aunt moved into Rainbow Senior Care Home and she is doing great there. She is in the memory care and their staff is very attentive and very helpful. We were in a situation where we needed to get her to a different facility ASAP and Rainbow Senior Care Home acted promptly. They helped us move her in a matter of hours. Everything is very clean and neat. It's a very family-oriented environment."

"Overall this place was pretty much a stereotypical nursing home that took in poor patients or patients that were not able to get in somewhere else on short notice. It seemed clean enough but overall there was just a sense of depression that one couldn't get past. The residents seemed to be taken care of at the minimum of what was required. My grandfather had been in another location that was very clean and well-lit and the staff seemed very bright and attentive. At my grandmothers, they had trouble with some residents wandering into the other rooms and you never knew what could happen at any minute. Also, there was no chance of a private room and so there were usually a rotating set of roommates. Much more like a hospital than a place to love. "

"I was very impressed with Presbyterian Village Athens. They have beautiful brand new cottages with one-bedroom or two-bedroom, a garage, a screened porch, and a little green area. I didn't see the apartments (but they have them). I went inside one of their little houses and it's all brand new. It looked fantastic. It's all new appliances and new floors. They have a very large dining room and a private dining room for people who want to have a party with their children or their friends. They have a swimming pool (which I'm very excited about), a gym, and a lot of activities. They have classes (like yoga and genealogy), and a book club. So, they are getting the residents organized into groups of interest. I liked it very much. We would be interested in living there, for sure. Some of our friends already live there and they took us around. We had dinner and the food was good. They also have a memory unit, and that's important to us."

"I ave stayed with The Oaks of Athens in the past. It's a very nice place to stay. The staff is nice and do what they can to help you. They provide you good care and they have pretty good food. They have all kinds of activities, like painting, cooking, Bingo, and games. You can buy some fairly nice stuff off of a little cart like lotions and shampoos. They also have good movies and church services. The rooms are very nice. The first time I was there I stayed in a very nice, semi-private room, but there's a big wall between you and your neighbor, so it's like living in a separate room. The second time I was there I was in a bigger private room."

"The hospital recommended Pruitthealth to us for rehab. The staff was all nice, very good and they treat her like she was a friend; they were excellent. She is in a semi-private and they even moved her to a different semi-private because of her roommates, and they were very cooperative with that. The dining room is very nice, it’s a big room with lots of tables. They had all kinds of stuff but she was mainly there for physical and occupational therapy and they work her out there. They made her walk every day; they were so nice. You have to at least buzz in and it’s a long way when you go out -- you have to press a code in to get out and in. "

"I'm still in University Nursing & Rehabilitation Center right now. It has been three weeks now. It has been good. The nurses and CNAs are nice. The other people here are nice, too. I've been getting along with everybody. It's a good place. There are three beds in our room. It's a little crowded, so you don't have much space. We all have our own closet and two drawers. Regarding maintenance, they're pretty fast when we need something. They have a nice dining area. It's all okay, but I don't care about the food. As for activities, I went to the cafeteria and watched a couple of movies. I had coffee, but I hadn't played any of the games or anything. But they have a lot of different things that people could do. I think it's a good place for the money."

"Very caring and attentive staff in a beautiful facility. Would prefer more activities for the memory care residents especially on weekends and holidays. Otherwise, Orchard Athens is a gem! "
