I am/was a resident of this facility

I was a resident at Covington Crossings 55+ Senior Living 3 years ago. I love the security I felt over there. It had door locks that I felt much more secure with than regular doors. The property was beautiful, and it had a lot of amenities, too. They just didn't do many activities with seniors. The seniors were on their own about giving events and activities. I didn't mind that until some seniors had all these children there. I'm thinking some may have been their children and grandchildren because some of them were already teenagers and young adults. Some of them can be kind of rambunctious. I don't mean to sound like someone complaining, but that was my traumatic experience. Some of the management people were very great to the residents. But one thing is that they didn't want to fix anything in the apartment, or sometimes it would be delayed. They would tell me it's because they had some maintenance staff who quit, and I understand that, but then they also didn't bring any professionals in to do the work. They had to bring someone else several times to clear up the work that the previous one had repaired, and I'm just irritated about having strangers keep coming into my apartment. I don't think they were a part of the community, and I don't think they should hire anyone who is not a valuable employee of their company. We had to do our maintenance request online. When I had done that, they wouldn't come out right away, so I had to send a really serious worded request before someone would come out in a timely manner. One of the staff members was very knowledgeable about all of our questions, concerns, and even complaints. She would come out and listen to you if you went down to the office. She would not just turn you away or deter you. One of them was very disrespectful, though, and I don't think she was knowledgeable. I complained about the noise level, the one that involves other residents' children, and she was not nice at all about it. There was a common dining area, and occasionally they would have plates provided for us there. I don't know who prepared them, but they were okay. Other than that, I prepared my own meals. The facility was very clean at all times. There was a salon, but they didn't have it operating, so I am disappointed about that part. The grounds and the picnic areas were all clean. We had a trash chute, so there was no problem with the trash being picked up, as well. There were very few activities, and we never had any outgoing ones. I am an active person, and I would have loved outgoing activities as well as in-house activities, but there were very few that I could count them, and I was there for over two years. There were just a few games, like bingo. They had a nice media area as well. I love the apartment. The only thing is that, as I age, I have to use the bathroom very frequently, and my bathroom is a long way from my bedroom. I couldn't even make it to the bathroom, and I did not like that because then I needed a bath, and I had to mop the floor, so it was just disgusting. The bathroom also didn't have the handrails. It was based on income, and I think it was too expensive for the service we were receiving.
